Chapter 24 - Lucien & Serena's Wedding

Lucien & Serena's Wedding

The morning sun spilled over the grand estate, draping the venue in a golden glow. Lush flowers lined the aisle, their soft petals reflecting the light, and the gentle hum of a string quartet filled the air. Guests arrived in elegant attire, whispers of excitement and awe spreading through the crowd. Today, Lucien Reed and Serena Blake were finally becoming husband and wife.

Reconciliation Before the Ceremony

Lucien arrived early, suit immaculate, Damien at his side as best man. Before the ceremony, his father, Harrison Reed, approached him with a sly grin.

"So... planning on having kids soon, son?" Harrison teased, raising an eyebrow.

Lucien rolled his eyes, though a small smile tugged at his lips. "Focus, Dad. Today isn't about that."

Harrison laughed warmly, then handed him an envelope. "This is from me and Celeste-thought you'd like a little gift for the big day."

Lucien's chest tightened. "Thanks, Dad... it means a lot."

Harrison reached out, patting his son on the shoulder. "You're marrying well. I'm proud of you. And... Celeste," he said, nodding at Serena's godmother, "I hope we can finally settle old scores."

Celeste smiled softly. "We can start today, Harrison."

The old tension dissolved into laughter and warmth. The Reed and Blake families were ready to witness a union years in the making.

The Ceremony Begins

Lucien waited at the altar, heart hammering. Damien whispered, trying to calm him. "She's coming, Lucien. Trust me. Everything's perfect."

Harrison leaned casually beside him. "Relax, son. Your bride isn't going anywhere."

Lucien froze mid-breath as his Elsie appeared at the end of the aisle. Richard and Evie flanked her, her dress glowing in the sunlight-Lucien's latest wedding masterpiece, crafted by ARISTELLE, flowing like silk and adorned with delicate crystal embroidery.

Serena's blonde hair shimmered, tears glinting in her eyes. Evie giggled as she handed over the bouquet she had carried.

Lucien's hand shook slightly as Damien pressed a handkerchief into it. He brushed away a stray tear from his own cheek.

She looked like... home.

The Vows

The priest began solemnly, but all eyes were on the couple. Lucien stepped closer, voice low but clear:

"Serena Blake... or Elsie, as I once called you... since we were seven, I promised you I would come back for you. I promised I would never leave you again. I was a fool as a child, and leaving you broke me... but today, I vow to never make you feel that pain again. I promise to love you, to protect you, and to make you smile every single day for the rest of our lives."

Tears glistened in Serena's eyes, her hands trembling as she clutched his.

Serena's vows were equally heartfelt:

"Lucien... I was seven when you left, and my heart broke into pieces. I don't ever want to feel that way again. I promise to stand by you, to love you, and to trust you... always. Please... never leave me again, or I might break completely."

Lucien's eyes glistened, voice thick with emotion as he whispered, "Never, Elsie... never."

The Kiss

The priest smiled gently. "You may now kiss the bride."

Lucien didn't wait. He dove under the veil, capturing her lips with a passion tempered by years of longing. Serena melted against him, her hands clutching his shoulders as tears slid down her cheeks.

Richard, standing to the side, muttered quietly: "He's hungry..."

Everyone laughed, breaking the tension, before applause and cheers filled the air.

Celebration and Bouquet Toss

Serena's veil floated back as the couple turned to face their friends and family. Laughter and joy rippled across the crowd.

The bouquet was tossed. Evie cheered as one of Serena's classmates caught it, screams of delight filling the space.

Lucien pulled Serena close, twirling her once before whispering, "Ready for Paris?"

"Absolutely," she said, smiling through tears.

With a bow to their families and a wave to the cheering guests, Lucien whisked Serena away for their honeymoon, the Paris skyline waiting to witness the next chapter of their love.
