The weekend had finally arrived. The last few days in Kuoh had passed with a certain calm, though not entirely free of frustrations. The prisoner Azazel had taken with him had proven useless: as soon as he tried to reveal anything about Kokabiel, he died, and no one could stop it. This left a bitter taste in Daniel's mouth, who was beginning to feel tired of so many threads being cut just when they seemed close to an important truth.
However, among these shadows of uncertainty, there was also light. Sona had accomplished her goal of enrolling Asia at Kuoh Academy. For the blonde girl, this meant much more than a simple routine change: it was the fulfillment of a dream. Asia had spent so much time isolated, cut off from the normal life she had always yearned for, that when she first held her school uniform in her hands, her eyes filled with tears of joy.
"Thank you... thank you, Sona," she had said with her innocent smile, bowing in a sincere gesture of gratitude.
Daniel, seeing her so happy, felt a warm feeling spread in his chest. Having her in his life had become an unexpected gift. She was sweet, pure, and even though she had accepted being part of his ever-growing group of girlfriends, she still retained that innocent tenderness that distinguished her.
During those days, Asia also discovered something else about herself: jealousy. Every time she saw Daniel being affectionate with any of the other girls—whether it was Hibiki snuggling against his arm, Sakura shyly claiming attention, or Tamamo literally climbing on him with her playful attitude—Asia couldn't help a little pout from appearing on her face.
"Daniel... I want a kiss too," she would say in a soft voice, yet filled with determination.
It was impossible not to smile at that. Her jealousy wasn't destructive; it was tender, innocent, almost childlike. And every time she did it, everyone in the mansion ended up laughing affectionately. Hikari often joked that Asia was "the guardian of fair kisses," and even Sona, always so composed, couldn't help but arch an eyebrow with a discreet smile when she saw the scene. Daniel, for his part, found this side of Asia enchanting, unable to deny her what she asked for.
But this weekend had a different purpose, and he had already promised: he would travel to Kyoto. Not for war or strategy, but for love. Yasaka, the leader of the Youkai and the woman who had marked him as her fiancé, was waiting for him.
The bite she had left on his left shoulder wasn't just a symbolic gesture; it was the definitive declaration that Daniel was hers. Every time he saw it in the mirror, that mark made him smile. Yasaka had claimed him, and he had no intention of rejecting that union.
The trip to Kyoto felt different. He wasn't carrying weapons or preparing for a fight. This time, he brought suitcases full of movies, series, books, even sweets and modern souvenirs he thought she might like. It was a small gesture, but Daniel knew that Yasaka couldn't easily leave Kyoto, and he wanted her to feel connected to the outside world. He wanted her to feel loved.
When he arrived, Yasaka was waiting with a serene smile, radiant as always. Her golden eyes shone with warmth, and her kimono accentuated her elegant and mature figure. Beside her, Kunou ran to Daniel with overflowing joy.
"Dad!" shouted the little girl, jumping into his arms.
Daniel caught her with laughter, lifting her easily as she wrapped her thin arms around him. He still hadn't fully gotten used to her calling him "dad," but deep in his heart, he felt it was right. If Yasaka was his fiancée, then Kunou was part of that promise.
The weekend unfolded wonderfully. Daniel and Yasaka spent hours together, sharing the movies he had brought. Yasaka was surprised by the special effects, laughed at the comedies, and at times clung to his arm during suspenseful scenes, like a young girl discovering something for the first time.
"You brought all this... just for me," she murmured at one point, with a smile mixing tenderness and desire.
"I want you to never lack for anything," Daniel replied sincerely, stroking her cheek. "Even if you can't leave Kyoto, I'll bring the world to you."
Those words, so simple and direct, pierced Yasaka's defenses. Her heart beat strongly, and without holding back any longer, she kissed him with passion. It was a kiss laden with desire and surrender, a fire that only a mature woman like her could unleash. Daniel responded with the same intensity, losing himself in the warmth of her lips and the firmness with which her arms held him.
For Yasaka, Daniel was no longer just a fiancé by custom, but a man she truly loved. And seeing him care so much for her and for Kunou, she knew she hadn't been wrong to mark him as hers.
The moments with Kunou were also special. The little girl enjoyed every instant with Daniel, showing him corners of Kyoto she loved and asking him to play with her. Again and again, she called him "dad" with a smile so genuine it made Daniel's throat tighten. He had never imagined having a family like this, and yet, now he couldn't conceive of life without them.
When the weekend ended, the farewell was bittersweet. Kunou hugged him tightly, refusing a little to let go.
"Promise me you'll come back soon, Dad."
Daniel stroked her head affectionately and smiled.
"I promise, Kunou. I'll come back as soon as I can."
Finally, Yasaka approached to give him one last kiss. It was a slow, deep kiss, full of contained passion, as if she wanted to leave a mark on his heart until he returned.
"Don't be long, my love," she whispered against his lips. "I'll be waiting eagerly."
"I'll be back," he assured her, with certainty etched in his voice.
With a full heart and a satisfied smile, Daniel began his return to Kuoh. Meanwhile, Yasaka and Kunou watched him from the entrance of their home, happy, with the warmth of newly strengthened love illuminating their faces.
The sun was beginning to set when Daniel returned to Kuoh. Just a few hours earlier, he had left behind Kyoto and its ancient landscapes, but now he was back at the mansion Azazel had prepared for him. Crossing the large gates, a familiar but warm scene awaited him: his girlfriends, already waiting at the entrance.
Hikari was the first to rush at him, hugging him tightly while her eyes shone with relief. Hibiki followed immediately, kissing his cheek tenderly. Reynare, as always, was bolder, stealing a kiss on the lips without caring about the others' presence. Tamamo, elegantly dressed in a light kimono, wrapped her tails around him and hugged him coquettishly. Sona, discreet but sincere, simply took his hand and looked at him affectionately. Sakura, a bit shyer, waited for the commotion to calm down before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Among all of them, Asia watched the scene. Although little time had passed since she met Daniel, she had already become part of the group. However, seeing him surrounded by so many beautiful, attentive women sparked a pang of jealousy in her. It was her first time feeling something like this, and although she tried to hide it, her blush and averted eyes gave her away.
"Daniel..." murmured Asia, gripping the edge of her skirt tightly. "I... I want a date with you."
The others turned to her in surprise, and in an instant, the room was filled with feminine voices demanding the same thing.
"That's not fair!" exclaimed Hibiki, puffing out her cheeks.
"I want an exclusive date too," Tamamo smiled mischievously while her tails twitched.
"It's not reasonable for only Asia to have one, Daniel," added Sona, crossing her arms, though her eyes shone with a hint of emotion.
"I want another night out!" chimed in Reynare, laughing amusedly.
"I... also... want one," whispered Sakura with a slight blush.
"I asked first," Asia puffed out her cheeks, an adorable gesture that melted Daniel on the spot.
Daniel sighed. He was surrounded by them all, each one pressing for his attention. He knew that if he chose one arbitrarily, the others might feel left out, and that was the last thing he wanted.
"Alright, alright..." he raised both hands, smiling resignedly. "I don't want anyone thinking I have favorites. How about we do this randomly?"
The girls looked at him, intrigued. Finally, they agreed. It was Hibiki who brought a wooden box, and Reynare who wrote numbers on pieces of paper. One by one, the girls drew a slip and waited for Daniel to arrange them.
When the lottery ended, Asia almost jumped with excitement: she had been drawn first. Alya—who had been helping Sona with documents but was now present—was second. Hibiki was third, followed by Tamamo, then Hikari, Sona, Reynare, and finally Sakura, who didn't hide a small grimace of disappointment, though Asia ran to hug her to cheer her up.
Daniel smiled seeing them amiably discuss the order, and after leaving his things in his room, he prepared for what would be his first date with Asia. He knew it meant more to her than it appeared: it was her first date ever, and he couldn't let it be just a simple outing.
Asia was radiant. She had chosen a simple white dress with green details that highlighted the purity and tenderness of her personality. Her long blonde hair fell like a waterfall over her shoulders, and her timid yet sincere smile moved him.
"Ready?" asked Daniel, offering his hand.
"Yes..." replied Asia, nervous but happy, taking his hand clumsily with both of hers.
The date began in downtown Kuoh. Daniel took her for a walk through local shops, showing her some iconic places. She didn't speak much Japanese, but Daniel patiently translated what was necessary and calmly explained every detail.
"You're very patient with me..." Asia said as they walked across a small bridge lit by lanterns.
"It's not patience, Asia. I like spending time with you." Daniel gently stroked her head, a gesture that made her blush from head to toe.
He took her to a small ice cream shop and showed her the strangest flavors in Japan. Asia chose a green tea one and ended up laughing clumsily after getting a little on her nose, which Daniel tenderly wiped off with a napkin. Later, they walked through a park full of flowers lit by nighttime lights, and Asia, marveling, kept looking around like a child in a fairy tale.
But the most special moment came when they stopped in front of a fountain. Asia, still nervous, confessed to him quietly:
"Daniel... I never thought I could feel like this. In my previous life, everything was pain, rejection, and loneliness... but now... with you... I feel I can be happy."
Daniel looked at her seriously, understanding the weight of her words. Without thinking too much, he gently cupped her face and gave her a tender, slow, warm kiss. Asia was left breathless, her eyes wide at first, but then she closed them and responded shyly.
When they separated, Asia hid her face in his chest, too embarrassed to look him in the eyes.
"Th-thank you..." she whispered, tears of happiness appearing on her cheeks. "I'll never forget this night."
Daniel smiled and hugged her tightly, vowing to himself to protect that purity and that smile at all costs.
Asia's first date had been a success, and although many more dates with the rest of his girlfriends still awaited him, in that moment, the only thing that mattered was her.
