Chapter 71 - Ada Wong Sneaks In

Here your bonus chapter

.......

Not far from the villa, as night began to fall, Ada Wong—who was currently a few miles away from Allen's villa—decided to approach on foot to observe the area more closely. She left her vehicle behind, knowing it would look suspicious if she drove any nearer.

She carried a hiker's backpack, planning to pose as a mountaineer exploring the Arklay Mountains.

But along the way, she caught a rotten stench in the air.

A chill crept up her spine. She felt as if someone was watching her from behind. Yet when she turned around, there was nothing there.

Not far from Ada, six dog-like figures with decayed, rotting bodies lurked in the shadows of the night.

Without warning, four of them suddenly darted toward her with terrifying speed.

Ada reacted instantly, gripping her pistol and aiming at the creatures rushing toward her.

"What the hell—?!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

She fired rapidly, but her shots failed to bring them down since none of them hit the head.

Click.

The gun was empty.

"Damn it!" Ada cursed, quickly throwing her backpack at them before rolling to the side, barely dodging the snapping jaws of one of the beasts.

She immediately broke into a sprint, reloading her weapon with a fresh magazine while trying to put some distance between them.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Gunshots echoed through the forest, far from the villa's location.

Ada managed to kill two of the dogs with clean headshots.

"Ohhh… so you have to shoot them in the head…" she muttered in frustration, clearly annoyed that the people who had sent her hadn't bothered to inform her of such a crucial detail.

But even if she wanted to complain right now, it would be useless. The remaining zombie dogs were already moving again, chasing after her with relentless hunger.

She raised her pistol, intending to deal with the rest.

Bang… bang… bang…

One more zombie dog fell lifeless to the ground, but the others were already closing in again.

With no other choice, Ada dodged another lunge and then ran deeper into the forest.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

As she ran, she kept firing while evading the snapping jaws that lunged at her from both sides. But it wasn't long before she realized something was wrong.

She was being surrounded.

Ada raised her gun again.

Click… click.

—She was out of bullets. And worse, she had no magazines left.

Her body was exhausted from running and narrowly avoiding several deadly bites.

Encircled on all sides, she found herself standing helplessly in the middle of the zombie dogs' tightening ring.

"So this is how it ends for me…" Ada muttered as she pulled out her knife, preparing to face the remaining zombie dogs.

Even so, her hand trembled slightly.

For the first time, Ada truly felt the fear of death. Facing monsters like these, she doubted she could endure the agony of being torn apart alive.

The three remaining dogs lunged at her at the same time, leaping straight toward her.

Ada shut her eyes tightly—

—but the pain she expected never came.

Instead, when she slowly opened them, she saw the zombie dogs lying motionless on the ground. Each of them had an arrow pierced clean through its skull, the shafts pinning their bodies firmly into the earth.

Bathed in the pale glow of the moonlight, a silver-haired woman stepped forward, a bow still resting in her hand. She walked gracefully toward Ada, her movements calm and controlled.

Her revealing outfit, decorated in shades of blue and paired with a short skirt, carried a wild, untamed charm—like nature itself given human form.

Seeing the woman approach, Ada felt a faint twinge of nervousness.

She knew exactly who this was.

One of her target's wives.

The data she had reviewed had clearly identified her—Artemis Olympian, a master archer who had once won countless Olympic contests in her youth.

"Thanks… for saving me," Ada said cautiously.

"Who are you… and what are you doing here at night?" Artemis asked, her moonlight-blue eyes fixed on the short-haired woman dressed in a flared shirt and jeans.

"Ah, my name is Ada… Ada Wong." Ada extended her hand, still dirty from rolling across the forest floor.

"Artemis Winters," Artemis introduced herself, using her married name after her union with her husband. "So why are you here? Didn't you read the news that this area is dangerous?"

"If it's so dangerous, then why are you here as well?" Ada shot back.

"I was just taking a stroll," Artemis replied casually.

It seemed that after living with Allen, she had started picking up some of his habits.

Ada heard those words as if they were perfectly normal, yet she felt confused.

A stroll? Is she insane—without any guards? she thought.

"You still haven't told me your purpose here. What are you doing?" Artemis asked while pulling out her arrows one by one, rinsing the blood off with water from a small bottle before sliding them neatly back into her quiver.

"Ah, about that… I'm an FBI agent investigating cases of people disappearing in this mountain. I'm also searching for my boyfriend, John Clemens. Word is, he vanished while training at Umbrella Corporation."

"Ohhh… in that case, I wish you success."

Artemis looked as though she wanted to return quickly, unwilling to linger too long with Ada—let alone meddle in another woman's love life. Besides, she felt that this woman named Ada was lying to her and likely had some other purpose for coming here.

Noticing Artemis's indifference, Ada quickly tried to stop her.

"Wait… may I follow you? I've run out of ammunition, and it's already dark. I was hoping I could stay at your place until morning."

Of course, Ada had no intention of missing such an opportunity.

Artemis studied her for a moment, considering whether she should bring her along or not. Ada looked dirty and covered in scratches. If she returned alone without any means to defend herself, she would probably die before sunrise.

"Very well. Come with me," Artemis said with a soft sigh.

They walked for quite a while before finally reaching the villa.

"Thank goodness you're safe," Karena said as she stepped forward to greet Artemis, who had just returned. "And who is this woman?"

"You worry too much about unnecessary things," Artemis replied lightly. "As for this woman, I found her on my way back to the villa—she nearly got eaten by some mutant dogs out there."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Ada Wong, but you can just call me Ada. I'm FBI."

Karena introduced herself to Ada in a casual manner as well. As for whether Ada was truly FBI or not, she didn't really care.

"We can talk inside. Are you hungry? Dinner has just been prepared," Karena said politely. As the mistress of the villa, she had to remain courteous to guests—especially since Artemis didn't seem to object.

Artemis and Ada finally stepped inside the large villa, and Artemis led her toward an empty guest room that she could use.

"You can use this room. There are some clothes inside you can wear," Artemis said to Ada.

"T-thank you," Ada replied.

Artemis nodded, then headed to her own room to clean herself up before joining the others for dinner.

Meanwhile, Allen, who was still in the laboratory, received word that his wife had returned for dinner.

He quickly wrapped up his work and carefully secured the vial containing the serum.

Ding...

"Finally… this serum is finished," Allen muttered as he checked the data on his computer.

A moment later, his expression shifted slightly.

"Damn… it looks like this serum still has a small problem," he said with a faint note of frustration.

From the analysis on his screen, he could clearly see the issue. Repeated mutations of the T-Virus could trigger an abnormal reaction in an infected individual's body, leading to changes in their blood composition. If left unchecked, it might cause unpredictable side effects.

"Hmmm… it seems I'll have to contact Alex about this and examine her body once again," Allen murmured thoughtfully.

He hadn't expected his research to become this complicated so quickly.

However, at the same time, according to the data displayed on his screen, this new serum could boost physical strength and durability up to threefold—placing the user on par with a Tyrant.

Allen stared at the numbers for a long moment.

"Does this mean I've ended up creating a biological weapon like a Tyrant?" he muttered, shaking his head.

That wasn't his original intention.

With a quiet sigh, Allen stood up from his chair, turned off the monitors, and left the laboratory, heading toward the dining room.

In the dining room, when Allen arrived, he noticed a woman who looked somewhat familiar.

Is that… Ada Wong? he wondered inwardly.

"Who is she?" Allen asked Karena, pretending he didn't know anything about Ada. Artemis still seemed to be in the bath.

"She's Ada Wong, an FBI agent that Artemis brought here," Karena replied as she took a seat beside him.

Allen glanced at Ada again, unable to hide a flicker of curiosity in his eyes. He couldn't help but wonder how she had ended up here of all places.

"What are you doing around this area? Aren't you afraid of the dangers? Even if you're a trained FBI agent, it's still dangerous," Allen asked, playing along with her story.

"I'm looking for my boyfriend, John Clemens. He's a trainer working for Umbrella, but a few days ago he went missing. I got worried, so I started investigating his whereabouts," Ada explained smoothly, repeating the same excuse she had given Artemis earlier.

"Ohhh, good luck then," Allen replied casually, his tone unreadable.

Not long after, Artemis came out, looking refreshed after her bath. She walked straight toward Allen without hesitation, sat down on his lap, and kissed him right in front of everyone.

Since Raviel and the other girls weren't around, she took the opportunity to do this. And of course, Allen didn't refuse—he kissed Artemis back with passion.

Before long, their kiss came to an end.

"Alright, let's eat first. We can continue later," Allen whispered.

"Okay…" Artemis replied softly, then sat beside him.

"Come on, let's eat first. We can talk more afterward," Allen said with a smile. As for Yoko and the rest of the Black Rose, they prefer to eat in their own rooms, after all, Allen doesn't want to force them to join the dinner.

Ada, watching their behavior, couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy. When Allen smiled at her, her face flushed slightly.

Damn… this man is way too handsome and dangerously charming for women, Ada thought. Even she, who had never been interested in men and had never been in a relationship, felt herself being swayed a little.

During the meal, Artemis deliberately fed Allen bites of food right in front of their guest.

Seeing this, Karena joined in as well, offering Allen food from her own plate.

"Okay, one at a time. I won't be able to finish my meal if you two keep this up," Allen said helplessly.

"Hehe~" Artemis only giggled playfully, clearly enjoying herself, while Karena simply smiled in quiet satisfaction.

After dinner, Allen glanced at Ada and said, "Alright then, I'll leave you here. If you need anything or have questions, I'll be in the living room later."

With that, he stood up and left. He still needed to clean himself up first.

Meanwhile, Ada decided to take a short walk around the villa.

She moved quietly through the hallway, carefully observing the layout and memorizing the structure in case she needed it later.

Eventually, she stopped in front of a room that felt different from the others. A faint glow seeped out from beneath the door, accompanied by the low hum of machinery inside. It looked like some kind of workspace—possibly where Yoko was stationed.

Curious, Ada slowly reached for the door handle—

"What are you doing here?"

The sudden voice made her freeze.

It came from a tall woman who had just appeared at the end of the hallway.

She was Michaela Schneider, codename Bertha, assigned to guard the interior of the villa while the others kept watch outside.

Ada calmly withdrew her hand and turned around, her expression composed as ever.

"I was just checking out the room," she replied casually.

"This room is restricted. Please leave, and don't wander into places you shouldn't. Remember, you're only a guest here," Michaela said firmly, her tone carrying a clear warning.

"…Alright, I'll go," Ada answered without protest.

She then turned and headed toward the living room instead, planning to speak with Allen.

She had wanted to ask what that room was for, but Ada quickly realized that pressing the matter would only raise suspicion. The last thing she wanted was to be thrown out in the middle of the night and forced to wander aimlessly through the forest again.

In the living room, after finishing his shower and cleaning himself up, Allen was now sitting on the sofa with Artemis clinging to him like a body pillow.

Ada paused at the entrance, considering whether she should turn back. It felt like she was intruding on their private time.

But it was already too late.

Artemis opened her eyes and looked straight at her.

"Darling, if you two want some time alone to talk, I'd better wait in the bedroom," Artemis said calmly.

"Alright… I promise it won't take long," Allen replied.

With that, Artemis stood up without hesitation and left the room.

Allen then rose to his feet and gestured toward the sofa.

"Have a seat."

He walked over to the cabinet, took out a bottle of wine, and poured a glass before handing it to Ada.

"Here."

"Thank you," Ada said softly.

"So, what is it you want to talk about?" Allen asked.

"First, I want to thank you for letting me stay here," Ada said, before continuing. "And about John… to be honest, he and I were just acquaintances. We had only recently started talking to each other. But when I received the report that he suddenly disappeared, I became uneasy. That's why I came to the Arkley Mountains."

Ada spoke in a very convincing tone—her acting was, without a doubt, top-notch.

"Ohhh, if this is about your love life, then stop right there. I honestly don't care. That's your business, and I don't want to get involved," Allen replied, sounding completely indifferent to John's fate. After all, why would he care about the life of some man he didn't even know?

Hearing that, Ada bit her lip slightly. Does this guy not have a shred of concern for others?

But she didn't give up just yet. "I know you once worked for Umbrella, so… do you know anything about John?"

"Not at all. I've never even heard his name. But if you really want to look for him, head east. I'm sure you'll find some leads there—there's an abandoned Umbrella facility in that area."

"But it's dangerous out there. I nearly died just trying to get here," she replied, her tone carrying a subtle plea for help.

"My advice is simple—just give up," Allen said bluntly, offering the easiest solution.

"But I can't leave John behind, not alone," Ada insisted.

"Well, that's your problem, not mine. I don't want to get any more involved. The only thing I can do for you is let you stay here for a few days. That's all I can offer," Allen said firmly.

"Of course, I'll accept your offer. By the way… that room at the end of the hallway—what is it used for?"

"Ohhh, that's Yoko's room. She works here and prefers not to be disturbed. So I hope you won't wander into rooms you shouldn't. If that's all you wanted to ask, then I'll be leaving now."

"Yes, of course," Ada replied.
