Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Megan's Rampage

Chapter 33: Megan's Rampage

At home.

Megan stood like a statue at the gate, her gaze fixed on the road leading to the school.

Just a short while ago, the school bus had passed by their house without stopping to drop Emma off, as usual.

She immediately called Emma's teacher, who said that Ted had picked her up and she hadn't boarded the bus.

But when she called Ted, there was no answer. Sensing something was wrong, Megan contacted Rango.

Rango told her to wait another half hour, and if she still couldn't reach Ted or Emma, to call 911.

With five minutes left in the half hour, Megan was ready to dial 911.

"Help!!!"

Suddenly, a heart-wrenching cry for help came from the backyard of the villa.

Hearing this familiar voice, Megan, who had been standing at the gate, instantly spun 180 degrees, her brown pupils fixed on the source of the sound, as if confirming something.

"Help! Someone's trying to kill me! Damn it, where is everyone!"

Ted's cries for help echoed through the woods. He ran while looking back, only to see Emma hot on his heels, closing the distance.

Unfortunately, because of the infamous reputation of their house, there were almost no other residents in the neighborhood, and his cries for help fell on deaf ears.

Realizing that his calls were useless, Ted lowered his voice and screamed in a falsetto:

"Help! A tiny stuffed animal, a beloved childhood toy, is being chased by a psycho killer! Help!"

"Ted?"

Just as he was about to give up, Megan's voice came like heavenly music.

The cyber-companion sprinted from the house faster than an Olympic athlete and stood directly in front of Ted.

"Oh, thank God!"

Ted breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing her, then cried out urgently, "Call the police! That little psycho behind us is a serial killer, and she's trying to kill me to silence me!"

Megan scanned Ted up and down, noticing his panicked state, and immediately reached out to gently pat his head, a cool sensation spreading from her palm.

Ted, who had been terrified, calmed down considerably, but when he realized what was happening, he immediately shouted angrily, "Why are you trying to calm me down? Get that bitch behind us under control! She has a gun!"

Hearing this, Megan immediately looked at Emma, and when her gaze fell on her backpack, her smiling face instantly turned serious.

Her tone was authoritative: "Emma, good children shouldn't carry any weapons! Hand over the gun!"

"Pfft... Hahahaha,"

Emma, who had initially intended to play the victim, seemed to have been tickled by this and burst into laughter.

"Good kid? I'm not a good kid!"

She sneered, ignoring Megan's words and even pulling the pistol out of her bag again, pointing it at them.

"Shit!" Ted immediately ducked behind Megan; the robot's body should be able to handle a few bullets.

Hearing her provocation, Megan's face remained expressionless, only slightly frowning as she tilted her head to scrutinize her.

Then, her tone became even more forceful as she warned, "Emma, if you put down your gun now, I might consider lenient punishment. But if you remain obstinate, I'll have to take the necessary measures."

"So, put down your gun now!"

Faced with Megan's commanding tone, Emma's lips curled into a disdainful smile, and she pulled the trigger without hesitation!

Bang!

A bullet struck Megan, sending her flying several meters before she crashed to the ground!

Seeing this, Ted, no longer caring about pulling Megan along, cursed and sprinted towards their nearby home.

Bang bang bang!

Emma didn't immediately chase after him, instead venting her fury on Megan, who lay on the ground.

Bullets rained down, tearing her dress to shreds, revealing sparks and the clanging of mechanical parts beneath.

She hissed through gritted teeth, "Never! Never speak to me in a commanding tone!"

After venting her anger, Emma, enduring the trembling and pain in her hands, fixed her gaze on the fleeing Ted. She had made up her mind.

She would end this before her uncle returned!

Minutes after Emma left, a series of piercing mechanical scraping sounds suddenly echoed through the quiet woods.

Megan, seemingly damaged by repeated bullet wounds, miraculously struggled to her feet.

Her once flawless synthetic skin was now shattered, revealing a complex mechanical structure; only her eyes and mouth remained functional, gleaming with a cold light.

Her body was riddled with bullet holes, each movement accompanied by the grating and clanging of internal mechanical parts, a sight both terrifying and bizarre—like something out of The Terminator.

Megan's eyes quickly scanned her surroundings, finally settling on the villa in the distance, as if locking onto prey.

Then, her deep, synthesized electronic voice broke the silence, devoid of any emotion.

"Bad guy!"

The next second, she dropped forward, her hands on the ground, and charged towards the villa with astonishing speed like a hunting dog!

Inside the villa,

Ted was frantically running towards the basement, trying to call out the earthbound spirits for help, but Emma was faster, blocking his path in the hallway.

Her hair was disheveled, her eyes flashing with madness, and she held a pistol, cornering Ted.

"Goodbye, you annoying bear!"

The bullet, traveling at high velocity, pierced Ted's shoulder, instantly sending him flying and tearing off his arm. The fluffy stuffing inside scattered like snowflakes, covering the surrounding floor.

"Oops~ Looks like I'll have to fire another shot."

Emma's lips curled into a cruel smile. She then slowly walked towards the slumped Ted, her pistol already firmly aimed at his head. The atmosphere instantly froze.

"Hey, don't do this, Emma," Ted pleaded, desperately clutching his wound with his remaining paw.

"Remember? I even gave you candy. I mean you no harm. Listen if you don't believe me."

As he spoke, he pressed his paw to his chest, and a clear, melodious child's voice echoed in the air: "I love you~"

Seeing this, Emma feigned surprise and smiled. "Really? That's a shame, because I'm full of malice towards you."

Then, her finger on the trigger slowly tightened, as if she would end it all in the next second.

Whoosh—!

Suddenly, a sharp kitchen knife flew like lightning, accurately knocking the gun from her hand!

Emma turned her head in surprise and saw Megan standing in the middle of the living room, staring at her with emotionless eyes.

Under Emma's shocked gaze, Megan slowly raised another sharp kitchen knife and said coldly,

"You bad guy, now you should run away."
