Chapter 93 - When Silence Feels Like Love

ᕙ༼Keifer's༽ᕗPOV

I walked into the master suite feeling like a battery at zero percent. My neck was stiff from staring at spreadsheets, and my head was still ringing with the echoes of the boardroom. I just wanted to fall face-first onto the mattress and disappear into the pillows.

I was two steps from the bed when a small, determined figure cut me off. Jay Jay stood there, her hands planted firmly on her hips, looking about five feet of pure trouble.

"Oh no, you don't," she chirped, her eyes dancing with that playful spark I could never say no to. "You're stiff as a board, Keifer. We are having a spa night. I'm going to massage all that 'grumpy CEO' stress right out of your shoulders."

I let out a low groan, my eyelids feeling like lead. "Jay Jay, please... no spa. I just need to be a horizontal rock. Let me sleep."

She gave me a little wink, her expression softening into something so incredibly cute I felt my resolve crumbling. "Jay Jay is Jay Jay," she reminded me. "And Jay Jay says: sit down."

She didn't give me a choice. She led me into the bathroom, where the steam was already rising. Watching her move around, pouring scented oils and fussing over the temperature of the water, I couldn't help but think how lucky I was. She looked so small compared to the massive marble tub, but she was completely in charge.

"Wait, Big Bear," she whispered, catching my hand as I tried to lean against the counter. "Bath first. You still smell like the office and expensive cologne. I want my Keifer back, not CEO Watson."

God, she was cute.

We stepped into the water together. The heat hit my tired muscles, but it was the feeling of Jay Jay settling between my legs that actually made me relax. I leaned my back against the marble and pulled her against my chest, burying my face in her shoulder.

"You're too good to me," I mumbled, my voice already thick.

"I have to take care of my favorite patient," she teased, her wet, soapy hands reaching back to cup my face. "If I don't, you'll turn into a grumpy statue."

She spent the next hour treating me like I was something very prisoius. She washed my back with slow, rhythmic strokes, her small hands surprisingly strong as she kneaded the knots in my shoulders. Then came the best part—she moved to my head. Her fingers worked through my hair, massaging my scalp until my brain felt like mush. I let out a long, defeated sigh, my head dropping onto her shoulder.

"See?" she whispered, leaning in to press a soft peck to my temple, then another to the crown of my head. "Isn't that better?"

"Mmm... don't stop," I managed to get out.

She just giggled, a sweet, melodic sound that made my heart thrum. After she finished rinsing me off, she wrapped me in a fluffy towel like I was a giant overgrown kid. She was so focused, so intent on taking care of me, that I felt a sudden, sharp surge of intent.

The spa was over. Now it was my turn.

I carried her to the bed, the towels dropping to the floor. I pulled her under the heavy duvet and didn't waste a second. I sprawled my entire weight over her, pinning her into the plush mattress. My heavy chest against her back, my long legs tangling with hers—the Human Blanket had officially returned to his post.

"Keifer... you're heavy again," she giggled, but she didn't pull away. She never did.

"Good," I mumbled, nuzzling into the crook of her neck, inhaling the scent of lavender and her. "This is the only way I'm going to sleep. No office, no secrets, no space between us. Just stay still, Jay Jay. The blanket is home."

As my breathing slowed and my eyes finally stayed shut, my last thought was how much I loved this woman. She was my sanctuary.

She let out a soft sigh of contentment, her small frame relaxing completely against the mattress. The quiet of the room was a stark contrast to the bustle of the office, and the weight of the day finally began to lift.

ᕙ༼Jay Jay's༽ᕗPOV

The weight of him was like a warm, solid anchor, pinning me into the mattress in the best way possible. I lay there for a few minutes, listening to the rhythmic thrum of his heart against my spine and his deep, steady breathing.

Is he actually out? I wondered. Usually, when the "Human Blanket" claims his territory, it's game over for the next eight hours.

I couldn't help myself. I reached back and gave his side a tiny, playful nudge with my elbow. "Keifer? You awake, Big Bear?"

He didn't just grunt or mumble. Instead, the heavy pressure shifted instantly. Keifer rolled slightly, propping himself up on one elbow so he could look down at me. His hair was still a little damp from the bath, falling over his forehead in messy waves, and his eyes were dark, focused, and definitely not asleep.

My breath hitched as he stared straight into my eyes. The "CEO" was gone, but the man looking at me now was even more intense.

"What happened, Keifer?" I whispered, my heart doing a little flutter. "I thought you were a 'horizontal rock'?"

He didn't answer right away. He just tracked the movement of my lips, a sleepy but possessive smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. He looked at me like I was the only thing in the world that mattered, which made me feel all melty inside.

"I was thinking," he rasped, his voice vibrating deep in his chest. He reached out, his large hand sliding under the duvet to find my waist.

"Thinking about what?" I giggled, trying to stay playful even though my face was heating up.

"Thinking that the spa isn't quite finished," he murmured. He leaned down, his nose brushing against mine, his gaze dropping to the silk of my nightshirt. "Your clothes... take them off, Jay Jay."

I blinked, my hands resting on his bare chest. "Oh? Are the terms of the Human Blanket changing?"

"Full skin-to-skin," he insisted, his voice dropping an octave as he tugged gently at the hem of my top. "I told you. No secrets, no space. I want to feel every bit of my wife while I sleep off that office stress. Now, cooperate."

He looked so handsome and sounded so bossy in that "tired-but-devoted" way of his that I couldn't possibly say no.

I bit my lip, refusing to look away even as my heart hammered against my ribs. He looked so serious, so "CEO-in-the-bedroom," but I knew exactly how to melt that resolve.

"My, my," I whispered, my voice trailing off into a little giggle. I reached up, tracing the line of his jaw with one finger, feeling the slight prickle of stubble. "The Human Blanket is getting awfully demanding tonight. Is this how you talk to your board of directors, Mr. Watson? Just ordering everyone to strip?"

Keifer didn't blink. He just hummed, a low sound that I felt in my own chest. "The board doesn't look nearly as good as you do in silk. And they certainly aren't as soft."

"So bossy," I teased, tilting my head back against the pillow while maintaining that locked, intense eye contact. "First you want a spa, then you want a bath, and now you're issuing executive orders. What happened to the 'defeated sigh' from earlier? You seem pretty awake to me."

He leaned in closer, his lips just a fraction of an inch from mine, his warmth radiating off him in waves. "I'm awake enough to know what I want. Don't make me use my 'possessive CEO' voice, Jay Jay. Take them off."

I let out a soft, airy laugh, my hands moving to the first button of my sleep shirt. I didn't rush. I kept my eyes fixed on his—watching the way his pupils blown wide and his breathing hitched—as I slowly began to undo them one by one.

"Well," I murmured, my voice dropping to a playful, intimate level. "I suppose I have to keep my favorite patient happy. It's part of the spa treatment, right?"

As the silk slipped off my shoulders, his hands were already there, waiting to pull me back down into the heat of the duvet.

As the last of the silk hit the floor, the air in the room suddenly felt twice as hot. I tried to maintain my playful gaze, but my breath hitched. Keifer wasn't just looking at me anymore; he was tracking me. His eyes were dark, heavy, and burning with an intensity that made my skin tingle. It was the look he gave a deal he was about to close—like he wanted to devour me whole.

God, please not now, my heart thumping wildly. I just got him relaxed! If he starts now, we aren't sleeping until sunrise.

"Jay..." he rasped. My name sounded like a low growl of hunger. He shifted, his large frame looming over me, the muscles in his arms tensing as he braced himself.

No, please, no, I screamed internally, even as a traitorous shiver ran down my spine. I was supposed to be the nurse, not the dessert!

"I'm needy now," he whispered, his voice vibrating against my collarbone. He didn't wait for a reply. His hand slid firmly around the back of my neck, pulling me upward until there was absolutely zero space left between us.

Fuck, my eyes fluttering shut as his lips finally crashed against mine. The "Human Blanket" had just turned into a very hungry predator, and I realized with a jolt of heat that my "patient" was feeling much, much better.

I felt my last bit of resistance melt away the second his skin pressed against mine. If he was hungry, I was starving, and the way he was looking at me made it impossible to think about sleep anymore.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him down until our foreheads rested against each other. "I wanted you to relax, Keifer," I whispered, my voice sounding breathy and small in the quiet room. "The spa was supposed to make you sleepy."

He let out a rough, needy sound, burying his face in the crook of my neck. His hands were everywhere—possessive, firm, and warm—reminding me exactly who I belonged to. "I am relaxed," he groaned against my skin. "The office is gone. The gala is gone. There's just this."

I ran my hands down his broad back, feeling the muscles I had just spent an hour kneading. He felt so solid, so real. I shifted beneath him, guiding him closer until the weight of him was perfectly centered over me.

"You're my peace, Jay Jay," he rasped, his voice thick with an emotion that made my chest ache. He pulled back just enough to look me in the eyes again, his gaze raw and honest. "I feel peace when I'm inside you. Everything else just... stops."

I didn't say a word. I just reached up, cupping his face and pulling him into a deep, soul-searing kiss that told him I felt the exact same way. The "Human Blanket" wasn't just for sleeping anymore; tonight, he was reclaiming every inch of me.

°♡˖꒰Author's꒱˖♡° POV

The atmosphere in the room shifted as Jay Jay took a deep breath, her eyes locked onto his with an intensity that spoke of deep devotion and a desire to provide the calm he so clearly needed. In this quiet moment, the outside world and the pressures of his life as a CEO seemed to fade into the background.

"Then let me take care of you," she whispered, her voice steady and filled with a sudden, bold confidence.

She reached out, resting her hands on his shoulders to ground him, feeling the tension slowly begin to drain from his frame. The silence between them wasn't empty; it was heavy with understanding.

"Jay Jay..." he murmured, his voice a low rasp as he leaned into her touch, closing his eyes to fully absorb the tranquility she offered.

"Shh," she teased softly, a small smile playing on her lips. "Just relax. Let the noise stop for a while."

Jay gripped Keifer's shoulders, her knuckles turning white as she positioned her entrance at his raindeer. She began to lower herself with agonizing precision, a sharp, hissed "Nnnngh...ssss" escaping her teeth as her core stretched to accommodate him. The initial tightness brought a flicker of pain to her expression, her brow furrowing as she adjusted to his size.

Keifer, however, let out a ragged, broken sound—half-gasp,as he felt her muscles clamp around him like a glove. The sensation was overwhelming, a wave of pure pleasure that made his head light. "Jay... god," he wheezed, his eyes fluttering shut, his body humming with the relief of finally being inside her."Fuck....jay"

She let out a long, shaky breath as she finally settled, the initial tension in her frame beginning to ease into a heavy, pulsing warmth. Keifer reached up, his large hands bracketing her waist to steady her, his face buried in the hollow of her throat where he could feel the rapid beat of her pulse. "Jay," he groaned softly against her skin, the intensity of the moment almost overwhelming, "just stay like this for a second. Let me feel you."

She paused, her breath hitching as she looked down at him, her eyes reflecting a mix of vulnerability and deep connection. Keifer reached up, his hands sliding from her waist to her back, feeling the warmth of her skin under his palms. As she slowly shifted, the physical discomfort she felt moments ago was replaced by a rhythmic closeness that drew a soft, breathless sound from her.

He pulled her down into a deep embrace, burying his face in her throat as they both surrendered to the shared sensation. A quiet cry escaped her lips"Keifer..."and he tightened his grip, anchored by her presence.

The sheer emotional weight of the connection made his head spin. He held her close, grounded by the weight of her body and the rhythmic sound of their breathing filling the quiet space around them.

As they sat together, the rhythmic pace of their shared breathing became the only sound in the room. It was a slow, steady connection that prioritized emotional closeness over everything else. He reached out to grip her waist, his hands large and possessive but gentle, as if she were the only anchor he had left.

"You have no idea what you do to me," he groaned softly, his forehead resting against hers. "This is the only place I can finally find some rest."

They stayed like that for a long time, enjoying the simple peace of each other's company, letting the world wait outside the door.

ᕙ༼Jay Jay's's༽ᕗPOV

My breath was coming in short, jagged bursts as I hammered down against him. My core was screaming, a mix of that sharp, initial stretch and a mounting, frantic heat that made me lose my mind. I was moving with rytham, my hands slipping against Keifer's sweat-slicked shoulders. "Keifer—ah!... I'm gonna—"

Suddenly, his hands clamped onto my waist like iron bands, halting my rhythm. Before I could even gasp, he surged upward, his strength overwhelming mine as he flipped me onto my back in one fluid, desperate motion. The world spun for a second until I felt the mattress hit my spine and Keifer's heavy weight pinning me down.

"My turn," he growled, his voice sounding like gravel.

He didn't give me a second to breathe. He drove back into me with a raw, high-energy power that had me arching off the bed instantly. "Keifer! Oh god!" I cried out, my legs locking around his waist as he took over the pace. Every thrust was deep, demanding, and lightning-fast. The sensation of his raindeer filling me so completely, so forcefully, turned my vision white.

"Look at me, Jay," he hissed, his eyes dark and blown out with pure Need. He was losing it, his movements becoming more frantic and uncoordinated as he pushed us both toward the edge.

I couldn't even answer; all that came out was a high-pitched, rhythmic keening. "Ahhh! Keifer, please!" My internal muscles were pulsing in a tight, desperate grip, trying to hold onto him as he hammered into me. I felt the control slipping away, the room disappearing until there was nothing but the sound of our skin slapping together and the wrecked, guttural moans he was making into my neck.

"I've got you, baby," he choked out, his pace turning into a blurred, high-speed frenzy. "Just let go... fuck, Jay, just let go with me!"

°♡˖꒰Author's꒱˖♡° POV

Keifer let out a wrecked, guttural sound as he suddenly pulled back, the sudden absence of him making Jay cry out in a needy, high-pitched whimper. Before she could protest, he flipped her over, pulling her up onto her hands and knees in one swift, high-energy motion.

"Keifer—ah! What are you—nghh!" Jay gasped, her breath hitching as she felt him steadying himself behind her.

He didn't wait. He gripped her hips with bruising force and surged forward, re-entering her core in one deep, authoritative drive.

"AHHHH! Kei—Keifer!" Jay screamed into the pillow, her back arching as the new angle sent a jolt of pure electricity through her. "Oh god... ah-ah-ah!"

"You're too good, Jay Jay... fuck," Keifer groaned, his voice a dark, distorted rasp. He began a punishing, rapid-fire pace, his chest slapping against her back with every heavy hit. "You feel how tight you are? You're wrapping around me so perfect."

"I can't—ah!—I can't think!" Jay moaned, her head hanging low as she shook under his power. "AHHH! Keifer, right there! Stay right there!"

"I've got you," he gritted out, his fingers digging into her hip bones to keep her pinned against his relentless rhythm. "You like this? You like how I'm taking you?"

"Yes! Ah! Yes, Keifer! More... please... more!" She was losing control, her internal muscles pulsing frantically against his raindeer as the friction built to a fever pitch.

"You're so hot, Jay," he hissed, his own breath coming in ragged, desperate stabs. "I'm gonna lose it... I'm gonna lose it inside you!"

"Do it! Ahhh! Don't stop! Keifer, don't stop!"

The energy in the room surged again, the air thick and heavy with the scent of their shared heat. Keifer's pace was relentless, his raindeer driving into Jay with a punishing, high-energy rhythm that had them both on the edge of losing it completely.

Jay's breath came in ragged, desperate hitches—"Ah—ah! Keifer!"—as her core pulsed frantically around him. She felt the peak approaching like a tidal wave, the sensation so intense it was almost overwhelming. Her hands were white-knuckled, gripping the cotton sheets beneath her so tightly the fabric groaned under the strain. She squeezed the bedding with everything she had, a strangled sound caught in her throat because she was terrified of what her nails would do to his back if she let them go.

Keifer felt her tension, felt the way she was trying to hold back for his sake. As he began to release inside her, his hips snapping forward in one final, deep surge, he reached up. He placed a heavy, grounding hand on her shoulder, his fingers digging in just enough to anchor her.

"Jay," he groaned, his voice a dark, wrecked rasp against her ear. "Don't... don't squeeze that sheet."

He leaned down, his weight pinning her to the mattress as he whispered the command. "Scratch me. Do it as much as you want, Jay... just not that sheet. I want to feel you."

I felt her body vibrating, a live wire of pure, unadulterated sensation, yet she was still holding back. I'd given her permission. I'd practically begged for it. I wanted to feel her mark me, to have those long, elegant nails of hers claim my skin as much as I was claiming her.

But she didn't budge.

I felt the vibration in her chest, a silent scream she refused to let out. I had given her the green light. I wanted her to tear into me, to let her control snap as completely as mine just had. But her hands stayed pinned between us, curled into rocks.

"Why?" I rasped, my breath still coming in broken hitches. I caught her wrists, pulling her hands away from her chest. "I told you to let go, Jay. Why didn't you scratch me?"

I forced her fingers open, and the sight made the air leave my lungs. Her palms were ruined—slashed open by her own grip, the blood bright and wet against her skin. She had carved herself up just to stay still.

She looked up at me, her eyes hazy and brimming with tears she didn't want to drop. Her voice was a fragile, trembling thread when she finally answered.

"My nails are long, Keifer..." she whispered, her lip wobbling. "They're so long. I didn't want to hurt you. I was scared I'd make you bleed."

The irony gutted me. She was so worried about a few scratches on my back that she'd sat there and literally bled for me instead. She'd taken all that intensity and turned it inward, choosing her own pain over the slightest mark on my skin.

"You're bleeding, Jay," I choked out, bringing her ruined palms to my lips.

"It's not that much....it's just scratches keifer".

I looked down at her, my heart hammering with a mix of fury and desire. I couldn't stand the sight of her palms bleeding just to spare me. I grabbed her hands, forcing them flat against my bare back, pinning them there.

"Scratch me, Jay," I growled, my voice dark and demanding. "I told you to let go."

She shook her head, her eyes wide and hazy. "No... Keifer, my nails... I'll hurt you—"

"I don't care," I interrupted, and then I drove into her with the hardest, deepest stroke I could manage.

"AH—! Keifer!" she cried out, a sharp, high-pitched moan ripping from her throat as her back arched off the mattress.

"Do it," I commanded again, my teeth grazing her earlobe before I hit that same depth again, even harder this time.

"Nnggh—ahhh!" Her fingers began to twitch against my skin, her resolve crumbling under the sheer force of the moment.

"Don't hold back. Right now," I urged, the intensity between us reaching a breaking point as we moved together.

"Oh—oh god—AAAH!" Her control finally snapped. Her hands, which had been trembling and hesitant, suddenly hooked. Her nails dug into my shoulders, dragging down my skin as she finally stopped fighting her instincts.

"Yes," I groaned, the sting on my back grounding me as the rhythm remained heavy and relentless. "Again. Let it all go, Jay."

"Keifer—ah! Ah!" she cried out, her voice a rhythmic, desperate chant as she finally marked my skin, her grip tightening with every crashing wave of emotion that swept over us.

The adrenaline was a roar in my ears, and I wasn't satisfied with just a few marks. I wanted her to claim every inch of me. I wanted to feel the evidence of her surrender from my neck down to my waist.

I drove into her with a deep, punishing stroke, my hips slamming against hers with a force that made the bed frame groan.

"AH—! Keifer! Please!" she wailed, her head tossing back as a shattered, breathless moan escaped her.

"Not enough, Jay. Scratch me. Harder!" I growled. I grabbed her hands and dragged them upward, forcing her nails into the sensitive skin of my neck.

As I delivered another heavy, bone-deep surge, her control finally disintegrated. Her long nails hooked into my neck and shoulders, dragging down with a desperate, sharp strength that drew heat to the surface.

"Oh god—Ah! Ahhh!" Every time I hit that deepest point, she let out a piercing, rhythmic moan, her fingers raking across my arms and digging into my shoulders until I knew I'd be covered in her marks.

"Yes! Just like that!" I rasped, my breath coming in ragged hitches as the sting of her nails on my back fueled my fire. I gave her one more hardest, final thrust, and she screamed my name, her nails carving deep paths down my spine, anchoring us both as the world exploded into white light.

ᕙ༼Keifer's༽ᕗPOV

I stayed perfectly still, my weight braced on my elbows so I wouldn't crush her, but I didn't pull away. Seeing Jay like this—eyes closed, skin flushed, and completely undone—made my chest ache in a way that had nothing to do with the frantic pace we'd just kept.

"You're still there," she'd whispered, and those words hit me harder than any of the high-energy movements before. I looked down at her, watching the way her core gave one last, tiny pulse against my raindeer. Even now, she was so tight, so perfectly wrapped around me.

"I don't think I could leave if I tried," I murmured, my voice sounding like gravel. I reached out, brushing a stray, sweat-adamp hair from her forehead. "You have no idea what you do to me, Jay Jay. When you started moving like that... when you were screaming my name... I felt like I was losing my mind."

She let out a soft, humming moan, her eyes still shut tight as if she was trying to memorize the sensation of me being deep inside her. "It was too much," she breathed. "The way you looked at me... I felt like you were seeing right through me."

"I was," I admitted, leaning down to press a lingering kiss to her temple. "I've never felt anything that intense. Not with anyone else. It's always different with you. It's like... I'm not just in your body, I'm in your head, too."

I felt her hands, still shaky, reach up to find my arms, her nails lightly grazing the marks she'd left on my back. I winced slightly, but it was a good kind of pain—a reminder that she'd finally let go and marked me as hers.

"I didn't mean to scratch you that hard," she whispered, her voice full of sleep and satisfaction.

"I told you to," I reminded her, a small smirk tugging at my mouth despite how wrecked I felt. "I'd rather have your marks on my skin than you holding back. Don't ever hold back with me again."

I watched her eyelashes flutter, her face still glowing with that deep, post-climax flush. Even in the dim light, she looked incredible, but I could see the sudden flash of self-consciousness in the way she tried to turn her head away from me.

"Don't look at me," she whispered, her voice a shy, breathless rasp. "I'm a mess, Keifer. My hair, the sweat... I must look crazy."

I let out a low, huffed laugh, my heart still thudding a heavy rhythm against my ribs. I reached out, my fingers hooking under her chin to gently pull her gaze back to mine.

"You're wrong," I murmured, my voice dropping into a dark, steady register. "You look beautiful, Jay. You look exactly like you should—mine. Beautiful, wrecked, and without a stitch of clothes on."

She let out a soft, embarrassed moan, her hands coming up to weakly push at my chest, though she didn't actually want me to move. "Stop teasing me," she pouted, a tiny, playful spark returning to her glazed eyes. "You're only saying that because you just had sex with me."

I leaned down until our noses were almost touching, the physical electricity between us still so thick I could practically taste it. Even though we were still, the air felt like it was humming. My raindeer was still buried deep in her core, and I could feel her pulsing around me, a silent invitation that made my blood start to simmer all over again.

"It wasn't just sex, Jay Jay," I hissed against her lips, feeling the spark jump between us. "It was a goddamn riot. And looking at you like this? Knowing I'm the one who made you look this way? It makes me want to start the whole thing over again right now."

I felt her breath hitch, her internal muscles giving a sharp, needy squeeze that told me she felt that same current of energy surging back to life.

I didn't pull away. Instead, I shifted just enough to remind her that I was still buried deep, my raindeer feeling that familiar, electric twitch as her core tightened instinctively in response. I saw her pupils blow wide, a soft "Oh..." escaping her lips as the friction sparked a new wave of heat.

"I'm not teasing you, Jay Jay," I whispered, my voice thick with a sudden, heavy weight of emotion. I leaned down, brushing my lips against her forehead, then her temple, before looking her straight in the eyes.

"I don't just love you because of this," I said, my hand sliding from her chin to cup the side of her neck, my thumb tracing her jawline. "I love you because you're the only person who makes me feel like I'm finally home. I love the way you challenge me, the way you laugh when you think no one is watching, and the way you hold my soul just as tightly as you're holding me right now. This?" I moved my hips in a slow, agonizingly deep circle, drawing a long, shaky moan from her throat. "This is just my body trying to get as close to your heart as possible."

She let out a broken, sob-like gasp, her eyes welling up as she reached up to lacing her fingers behind my neck. "Keifer... ah..."

"You're beautiful because you're mine and iam yours," I groaned, beginning a slow, deliberate rhythm that was all about the feel of her stretching around me. "And I'm never letting go."

I kept the pace steady and deep, watching her face transform as the physical electricity built into something even more intense than before—a slow burn that promised to last all night.

ᕙ༼Keifer's༽ᕗPOV

After that intense warmth, I didn't want the feeling of her to leave me, but she looked so soft and spent in my arms. I carried her back into the master bath, the water still warm and smelling of the lavender she loves.

"My turn to take care of you," I whispered, my voice rough.

I washed her slowly, my hands tracing every curve of her body with a reverence that felt like a prayer. I lingered on her shoulders, kissing the spots I had just been biting minutes before. She leaned her head back against the marble, her eyes half-closed, looking like a little angel. I dried her off with the softest towel we owned, wrapping her up like a precious gift.

Instead of the bed, I led her toward the terrace. I had already set out a thick pile of duvets and pillows on the oversized lounge bed under the open sky.

"Keifer?" she murmured, rubbing her eyes cutely. "What are we doing out here?"

"Moonlight spa," I teased, pulling her down into the nest of blankets.

The air was crisp, but beneath the heavy duvet, it was nothing but skin-to-skin heat. I sprawled over her, pinning her down with my weight, my chest pressing against her back. The "Human Blanket" was back in his favorite position, but this time, the stars were our only audience.

"You're my peace, Jay Jay," I mumbled into her hair, inhaling the fresh scent of the bath and the cool night air. "I feel so deep when I'm with you... it's a feeling I never want to let go of."

I felt her small hand reach back, intertwining her fingers with mine. "I'm not going anywhere, Big Bear," she whispered.

I watched the moon for a moment, feeling her steady heartbeat against my arm. For the first time in four days, the silence wasn't empty—it was full of her. Within minutes, the cool breeze and her warmth lulled me into the deepest sleep I'd had in years.
