The following morning, Luke was ready to leave.
He had stayed up a little later than usual the previous night, making sure every trap around the house had been properly installed. He went through each one carefully, checking their mechanisms and ensuring they would function as intended. He wasn't willing to leave anything to chance, especially when it concerned the safety of his family.
There were a few more potions he needed to brew and store in the new house. On top of that, he had gathered enough food to last them at least three to four days, ensuring they wouldn't have to venture outside unless absolutely necessary.
"Most of us aren't particularly fond of wandering around anyway. But even if we do need to step outside, we'll make sure to be careful," Monica assured him.
