Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 - Struggle of a Lost Lady to Save her Beloved

SWOOOSH

BOOOOOMMM

And it was that small moment, the gap, that told him how light is faster than sound, as he saw a light—a bright light that was brighter than his future and the sun.

No, technically it was the sun which had fallen from the sky. Clouds scattered around, and directly within a second the whole battleground was filled with ashes, burning flesh, and the sight where what was left were just hundreds of soldiers with burned bodies.

And the sound of women tearing through the hearts that had already stopped beating, seeing the brutal sight of what a moment ago was the site of courage and bravery, of men's pride.

"For a weak human... you are far too capable, Raven Lustre."

The acrid smell of burning flesh and ash filled Raven's lungs as he stared at the devastation before him.

Where thousands of soldiers had stood moments ago, now only charred remains and scattered ashes painted the blackened earth.

'...we're all dead,' he thought, his body trembling as the reality of their situation crashed down on him. Much faster than others, given from the scale of what happened, he actually knew that this was the end.

The battlefield had become a graveyard in an instant.

The proud banners that had fluttered in the wind were now nothing but smoldering scraps.

The war cries that had echoed across the plains were replaced by an eerie, suffocating silence broken only by the crackling of dying flames.

But then movement caught his eye.

Astasia reacted first, her survival instincts kicking in as she surged upward, her massive angel wings unfurling with a thunderous whoosh.

The white feathers gleamed against the hellish backdrop as she rose into the smoke-filled sky, her sword already drawn and gleaming with holy light.

"Above us!" Raven shouted, his voice cracking as he pointed skyward.

That's when he saw her—the silhouette of another winged figure hovering in the air, but this one was different.

Dark, curved horns protruded from her head, and her wings were not the pristine white of an angel but something far more sinister.

It wasn't much of a deal to him to recognize the one who was above in the sky.

'A fucking demon general...'

Astasia swung her blade in a wide arc, holy energy crackling along its edge, but she struck only empty air.

The demon had vanished, moving faster than even Astasia's enhanced senses could track.

"Where the hell did she—" Astasia's voice was cut short as she spun around, her golden eyes scanning the smoke and ash.

Raven felt his blood turn to ice as a warm breath tickled his ear, followed by the soft pressure of a chin resting on his shoulder.

The scent hit him immediately—intoxicating, like honey and sin mixed together, making his head spin.

"I never thought I'd finally meet you," came a sultry voice, each word dripping with dark amusement. "You know how much hassle you've given me, huh, human?"

His body trembled violently as he slowly turned his head. What he saw made his cock twitch involuntarily despite the terror coursing through his veins.

Her face was that of a succubus—devastatingly beautiful in the most dangerous way possible. Purple, heart-shaped pupils stared at him with predatory hunger, while her full, crimson lips curved into a smile that revealed delicate fangs.

Her skin was pale as moonlight, flawless except for the small beauty mark just below her left eye.

Everything about her screamed temptation and death wrapped in the most fuckable package he'd ever seen.

'System...' Even in that state where one loses their mind, hidden too but given his ability making his mind thoughtless, analytical and much faster without him having to be influenced by mental attack and having immunity, he instantly inquired the system to see the status of the woman who looked at him from inches away with those eyes so hypnotic that he felt wanting to get banged by her.

Yeah... somewhat he sensed her the other way around, not a man pounding her but her having the power to have them taken.

Raven's Automatic Angel Vision ability activated involuntarily as he stared at the devastatingly beautiful demoness, the purple-pink interface materializing in his vision with readings that made his blood run cold.

'....' Raven's mind reeled as the numbers burned themselves into his consciousness.

Even Astasia's overwhelming stats looked pathetic compared to this monster.

Her lowest stat was nearly ten times higher than anything the Hero Party could muster, while her charisma score made his own pathetic look like a joke.

"I—"

Before he could even process what to do, what to say and fuck how to even exist in same air as her, Gareth's massive fist came flying through the air, aimed directly at where the succubus had been standing.

BAM!

"Kurghh—!?!"

Instead, it connected with Raven's chest, sending him flying backward with bone-crushing force.

"SIR!" Nyra's voice cut through the chaos as he coughed up blood, his body spinning through the air.

But instead of hitting the hard ground, his back collided with something soft and warm.

The succubus had appeared behind him, her curvaceous body cushioning his fall as her arms wrapped around his chest.

"It seems your comrade hates you," she chuckled, her voice vibrating against his ear as her soft breasts pressed against his back through the thin fabric of her revealing outfit.

Raven's mind raced, trying to process everything happening around him.

The devastating attack, the thousands of dead soldiers, and now one of the demon generals was practically embracing him.

And the answer was simply—she was laughing because she didn't give a shit about them.

So shouldn't he do the same?

After all, they were going to die soon enough.

"He's kind of stupid," Raven managed to gasp out, blood still trickling from his lips as he stared at Gareth's confused expression.

The succubus laughed—a sound like silk being torn, beautiful and terrifying at the same time.

"Oh, I like you already," she purred, her fingers trailing along his chest. "Such honesty... I knew who can always think ahead of me might just be someone like me."

'Hehe... so she is that strategist.' Raven from her words realized—not panicking due to his mental ability keeping him much more calm even in this situation, judging everything like playing a game.

He just from her words understood that she was the one who was always spoiling his strategy.

"Get away from him, demon!" Astasia's voice boomed from above as she dove down, her sword blazing with holy fire.

But once again, the succubus simply vanished, leaving Raven to crash face-first into the ash-covered ground.

He rolled over, spitting dirt and blood, just in time to see the demon reappear directly in front of Astasia, their faces mere inches apart.

"Astasia Vainglory," the succubus said with mock reverence, "the Empire's one of the greatest weapon. But for you to show such care... oh, so you love that man?"

Astasia's holy aura flared brighter, but Raven could see the way her hands shook—with rage or fear, he couldn't tell.

"I'll kill you," Astasia snarled, raising her sword.

"How bad—" Even though the woman just said it casually as she flicked her finger, it seemed Astasia was not just swinging her sword as her blade directly landed between her fingers.

It stopped in a way that seemed to cut a hair strand of the succubus hair making her eyes narrowed looking towards Astasia and said, "Do—"

"JUST SHUT UP!"
