Chapter 2 - 2/Delirium

Chapter 2

I struck my cheek hard with my hand; the sound of the slap echoed through the quiet room,

but the pain I felt was terrifyingly real.

The scene did not vanish, and I did not wake up in my dilapidated bed.

I began to hit my masculine arms and thighs like a madwoman, my breath coming in audible gasps as if I were a runner at the end of a race.

The servant froze in his place, his eyes bulging as he watched the psychological seizure that had overcome me.

"Master... what is happening?"

"Come here!"

I screamed hysterically, my body trembling with a violence I had never experienced before.

"Pinch me.. hit me.. do anything! This is a cursed nightmare, this screen must break and I must wake up now!"

I kept spinning around in the middle of the luxurious room,

feeling the weight of my new body pressing against the marble.

I stopped suddenly in front of him, "Adrian's" broad chest rising and falling rapidly.

"Look at me closely.. answer me honestly, do you see a man or a girl in front of you?"

The servant took a step back, slowly opening his mouth while examining my strained features.

"Master Adrian... did... did you take something tonight? Is it drugs again?"

I lunged toward him like lightning and grabbed his slender shoulders with fists whose great strength I felt beneath my fingers.

I shook him violently while shouting in his face:

"Listen to me well! I am not Adrian! I am Elena.. I was riding the cursed bus this morning, there was crowding and sweat and an accident.. then suddenly I found myself trapped in this muscular cage!"

The servant's eyes widened to the point they looked as if they would fall out of his face; a heavy silence prevailed,

broken only by the sound of my panting.

He blinked several times, then said in a calm and suspicious tone,

like someone speaking to a person who had completely lost his mind:

"I think you need a very cold bath, Master Adrian."

"What bath?!"

I screamed at him, and tears began to burn my new green eyes.

"I'm telling you my name is Elena! I am not this person you are calling!"

He nodded slowly and retreated toward the door, trying to maintain his artificial calmness.

"Fine, fine.. as you wish. I will be back in a while."

He closed the door behind him with an eerie quietness, leaving me alone in the middle of this black void.

A deadly silence fell, and my gaze dropped instinctively.

I slowly pulled back the edge of my pants once more, curiosity battling disgust inside me.

"Oh.. damn it ..it's a penis.."

I whispered in a hoarse, faint voice, while a strange shiver took hold of me.

"It... it looks very real."

I rushed toward the heavy velvet curtains, pulling them aside with trembling hands as if I were revealing another world.

As soon as I opened the massive glass door, the cold night air rushed against my bare chest,

and I felt a shiver run through my new, rough skin.

I held my breath as I peered over the edge. It wasn't just a garden;

it was a vast green empire stretching under the moonlight,

centered by a turquoise pool reflecting the starlight like a piece of diamond.

And below, there were men in black formal suits and huge bodies,

moving with an eerie mechanical precision, earphone wires coiling around their necks like snakes.

"All of this cannot be real.. impossible."

Suddenly, an idea flashed in my scattered mind,

an idea I had once read in a cheap novel: Dreams end when the body hits the ground.

I felt my heartbeat accelerate until it almost pierced my strong chest bones. Yes, the fall is the key.

I will force this nightmare to break.

I raised my right foot, feeling the coldness of the balcony's iron touch the sole of my foot.

I gripped the edge tightly, and "Adrian's" hand veins bulged frighteningly under the pressure of tension.

I leaned my heavy body toward the void, the wind caressing my short black hair,

while my green eyes were fixed below, where awakening.. or the abyss.. awaited me.

I closed my eyes tightly and tightened my sculpted abdominal muscles,

ready to hurl this strange masculine weight into the embrace of gravity.
