Chapter 101 - Chapter 101 - The Alpha's Invitation

The Red Moon pack had settled after the chaos, though the air still carried traces of everything they had survived. But inside Ryan's private study in the human-world mansion, there was a different kind of silence—warm, intimate, almost fragile.

Hazel stood near the tall windows, looking out over the city skyline. The lights below shimmered like fallen stars.

She had survived betrayal.

She had found her mother again.

And somehow… she had found Ryan.

Behind her, she sensed him before she heard him.

Ryan Smith.

His presence always altered the room.

"Hazel."

His voice, deep and velvet-smooth, made her turn.

He had loosened his tie, his sleeves rolled halfway, dark hair falling over his forehead in that careless way that always unsettled her.

She swallowed.

"Yes?"

Ryan stepped closer.

Not as an Alpha.

Not as the feared ruler of Red Moon.

But as a man.

A man looking at his mate.

"I've been thinking," he said.

Hazel gave a small smile. "That sounds dangerous."

A rare smirk touched his mouth.

"It usually is."

He stopped in front of her.

Close enough for her pulse to betray her.

"For months," Ryan said quietly, "our lives have been battles. Prophecies. Blood. Enemies."

His gaze softened.

"And I've had you beside me through all of it… but I have never had you to myself."

Hazel's breath caught.

Ryan lifted a hand, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

His touch was devastatingly gentle.

"So," he murmured, "I want to steal you away."

Hazel blinked.

"What?"

Ryan leaned in slightly.

"A date."

Her eyes widened.

"A… date?"

"Yes."

He said it so seriously she almost laughed.

"The mighty Alpha Ryan Smith is asking me on a date?"

His mouth curved.

"I'm not asking."

His voice dropped lower.

"I'm taking you."

Heat rushed into Hazel's cheeks.

Ryan's gaze darkened with satisfaction.

"That blush…" he murmured. "I could get used to causing it."

Hazel looked away, flustered.

"Where would you even take me?"

Ryan moved past her toward a cabinet, lifted a crystal glass, poured himself whiskey, then turned back.

"To a hotel I own."

Hazel nearly choked.

"A hotel?"

"The most expensive one in the city."

He said it casually.

"As if billionaires booked private penthouse suites for dates every day."

Hazel stared.

Ryan gave her a slow look.

"We'll dine there."

He stepped closer again.

"Stay there."

Even closer.

"Sleep there."

Her heart nearly stopped.

"In my arms."

The room seemed too small.

Too warm.

Hazel whispered, "Ryan…"

His fingers tilted her chin upward.

"No rogues."

"No pack politics."

"No prophecy."

"Just you and me."

Something in her melted.

No one had ever wanted to give her softness before.

Only Ryan.

She searched his face.

"What if your pack needs you?"

Ryan's eyes gleamed.

"They can survive one night without their Alpha."

Then he lowered his voice dangerously—

"But I'm not sure I can survive much longer without having one night alone with you."

Her lips parted.

That did things to her.

Things she didn't understand.

Ryan watched every reaction.

Enjoying every second.

Finally Hazel whispered, almost shy—

"Yes."

Ryan went still.

"As in yes…?"

Her smile deepened.

"Yes, Alpha."

For a second even Ryan looked caught off guard.

Then he exhaled a laugh.

And that alone was rare enough to feel magical.

He bent close, his lips almost brushing her ear.

"Dress beautifully tonight."

"Why?"

His voice was wicked.

"Because I plan to stare at you all evening."

Hazel laughed despite herself.

Then the door burst open.

Bella.

Klara.

Sera.

All three froze.

Then grinned.

Bella gasped dramatically.

"Did our Alpha just ask Hazel on a date?"

Klara clutched her chest.

"The beast has turned romantic."

Ryan shot them a look.

"Leave."

Sera smirked.

"Not until we know what Hazel is wearing."

Hazel covered her face.

Ryan folded his arms.

"I am beginning to regret having a pack."

Bella pointed at Hazel.

"We're helping you get ready."

Klara added—

"And if he hurts your feelings, we jump him."

Ryan raised one brow.

"Try."

Everyone laughed.

And for the first time in so long—

it felt normal.

Later that night…

Hazel stood before the mirror preparing.

Heart racing.

Hands trembling.

Because this wasn't about rogues.

Or prophecy.

Or war.

It was simply—

Her first date.

With her Alpha.

And somewhere downstairs…

Ryan Smith was waiting.

Impatient.

Possessive.

And looking at the clock every few seconds.

Like a man in love.
