Chapter 97 - Chapter 97 - The Hunt Begins

The Red Moon pack grounds were a blur as Ryan tried to focus. The forest stretched before them, shadowed and silent, but his mind was in chaos. Hazel was gone, taken by Justin, and the absence of his mate gnawed at him. His senses, normally razor-sharp, were scattered.

Ralph, his inner wolf, howled in longing, a constant reminder of the mate he could not reach. His vampire side throbbed with frustration, but neither demon nor vampire aligned with his Alpha power. Every instinct pulled him toward Hazel, but his body and mind couldn't fully channel it.

Lucifer, standing beside him, observed silently. The centuries of power, the weight of hell itself, radiated off him like a living force. Without hesitation, he extended his will into the world.

"Ryan," Lucifer said calmly, "focus is wasted here. Let me do this."

Before Ryan could protest, Lucifer's eyes glowed like molten fire. A surge of energy erupted from him, invisible but palpable, and the air around the forest shimmered. Within moments, the faint traces of Hazel's essence, her fear, her heartbeat, and the subtle imprint of Justin's presence, were laid bare.

Ryan's head spun. "How—how did you…?" he muttered. His frustration was raw, every heartbeat a reminder that he was incomplete without Hazel.

Lucifer's gaze swept over him. "Your mind is clouded by longing, son. I see it. But you will follow, and you will not fail."

Ryan nodded, trying to gather himself, but his wolf and vampire instincts still ached with yearning. Ralph whimpered inside him, restless and impatient. Yet, there was no choice now. Hazel's life depended on him.

He signaled to Liam, Nick, and the other warriors. "We move. Every step precise. Every sense focused. This ends tonight."

The pack, fully aligned under Ryan's authority despite his internal struggle, followed him into the shadows. The women—Hazel's friends, Klara, Bella, and Sera—were left behind to secure the Red Moon pack, protect its members, and prevent any rogue interference. Their role was crucial; nothing could be left vulnerable at home.

Lucifer led the way with Ryan close behind, his presence anchoring the pack. "Her location is precise. Justin believes he is clever, but he underestimates Red Moon," Lucifer said, his tone ice-cold yet commanding.

The warriors moved like shadows, silent and lethal. Liam and Nick flanked Ryan, ready to protect him at all costs. Every footstep, every movement, carried the weight of urgency and deadly precision.

Ryan's eyes scanned the terrain, alert to every sound, every shift in the wind, but his heart continued to ache with the void left by his mate. Ralph's restlessness clawed at him, whispering, howling, urging him forward, but unable to calm the storm of desire and frustration inside.

And yet, despite his scattered senses, Lucifer's power guided them unerringly. The scent of Hazel, faint yet undeniable, pulsed through the night, leading them like a beacon.

"Hold nothing back," Lucifer commanded. "Tonight, we reclaim what is ours. Justin will pay. Gloria will pay. And Hazel will return to you, Ryan."

The pack surged forward, shadows among shadows, unstoppable and united. The human world awaited, and with it, the confrontation that would decide life, loyalty, and power.

Ryan's heart clenched, his teeth gritted. Ralph growled low inside him, fierce and desperate. Tonight, nothing would stop them—not Justin, not rogue armies, not even the chaos of Ryan's own longing.

The hunt had truly begun.
