"You said you wanted to see your family," he accused in a calm voice, eyes locked on her. "Were my words and actions not enough to make you understand that your place is next to me?" He said slowly, this time lacking the smile on his face that made Luna jump at every one of his next words.
"You—you di—did not keep your end of the deal, and yet you expect me to. That is not fair," She forced out, the words breaking, while willing her heart to be quiet.
Draven's eyes narrowed at her words, and he took another step closer. The other man pushed Luna back and stood in front of her in a protective stance, as if he saw the need to shield the girl from the king's rage.
This made Draven's cold eyes darken further. His green eyes narrowed at the way the man's body brushed against Luna's in their current position.
"Step away from her, werewolf, unless you want your blood staining the scaffold just like the other man's." Draven said with a crooked smile, and Luna's eyes widened at his words. His smile had returned to grace his lips.
Luna felt the slow beat of dread surround her body, thick with the tension in the air and Draven's words. She didn't want to witness another beheading, and was about to step away from Mr. Hathor when she heard the man boldly say,
"Luna is scared of you and doesn't want to be with you. You cannot force her against her will." Riven had a determined look on his face that set Luna's nerves all over the place. Her hands gripped the edge of her clothes to control herself.
Draven looked at where Luna stood, and without being told twice, she stepped away from Mr. Hathor's back at his gaze. The king smiled at her. Though Luna did not move to go to the king immediately, she still made sure she was not close to Mr. Hathor. Somewhere she was beginning to fear for the man's life. She didn't want the king to take the opportunity and end it.
When Draven saw that Luna was no longer close to the man, he then said, "Whether Luna is scared of me or not is not left for you to decide for her. She has just started to get to know me, and it will take her a few more days to come to terms with the truth about me. But can you say the same for yourself?" He asked the man with a smile radiating on his face, which made Riven Hathor's brow furrow at his question.
"What are you trying to say?" asked Riven. His eyes were fixed on the king, unwilling to back down.
Draven's smile deepened at the man's confidence, something the alpha of the pack lacked, but somehow this man had. How strange, he thought with a smile. "Lower your gaze when you talk to me, Riven," he said, his voice low, yet it carried more authority than a shout. He turned to Luna and ordered, "Go and wait for me in the carriage. I have something serious to discuss with this interest of yours."
The blood in Luna's face ran cold, not because the king asked her to go to the carriage, but because she didn't know what the king intended to do with Mr. Hathor. She wore a worried look when she saw Mr. Hathor try to stop her from going, and she quickly shook her head at him, urging him not to approach her.
This exchange did not escape the cold king's eyes, and he watched them, smiling gleefully. Luna looked at Draven, trying to figure out what he was thinking. Her gaze was filled with worry and anxiousness. "Go on now," said the king to her, and Luna exhaled, her heart pounding desperately in her ribcage as she looked at both men with heavy heart.
Luna dragged her stiff feet away, Draven's smile burning into her back. She left Riven to the king's mercy. And prayed the king would not hurt him.

— At first the beginning of the story, the ML will not be perfect, and he would be faulty even towards the end because no one's perfect but like I have warned before, the Ml is very twisted eviler than any other ml in a book. So you just have to be patient with him and watch him make mistake, learn, grow.
— Ml has another soul bound to him, a fragment of his own soul, a raven who is temperamental, extremelyjealous, possessive, selfish. You probably won't like him much, but please cheer for him because this book can only exist with him.
