Chapter 45 - Chapter 45- Truce

Years Ago

After Kaoru's death, Luna and Yuna were taken by a man to a hospital, where they were separated into different rooms. David caught a glimpse of Luna and quietly followed her to her room. He didn't enter at first . Instead, he waited outside because The man who brought her there in the first place was still talking to the nurse and the doctor about something

David waited for them to finish talking and after they left the room, Only then he step in.

He could clearly see the sorrow and exhaustion etched on Luna's face.

David approached her quietly and sat beside her. He said gently:

"Luna, what's wrong? You look so sad… You haven't even talked to me."

"Go away," she muttered.

"Come on, stop it. Just tell me what happened."

"Fine. I'll keep it short."

"Alright, tell me."

"I killed Kaoru."

David stood up, stunned.

"What?!"

"Didn't you hear me?" Luna said coldly. "I killed Kaoru."

"I heard you! But… why? Wasn't he your mentor? Someone you looked up to like a father?"

"Yes. I'll explain."

And so, Luna told him the truth. The entire story behind Kaoru's death. As she spoke, David listened, his heart growing heavier with every word.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you," he said afterward.

"It's alright. I would've punched you if I wasn't this sad."

"Yeah… I figured."

Time passed. Luna slowly began to heal. Spending her days with David and the other children at the orphanage helped ease the pain of that haunting memory.

Back to the Present

Luna stood silently, locking eyes with David. He stared back at her. They both remembered those days… how a part of their childhood was spent together. But things had changed. Now, they were on opposite sides, enemies with different goals.

Luna and Sony stood beside Jayden and William, both incapacitated under the influence of Disorder Power. Luna summoned her star, slicing through Jayden's lightning field. A swift strike rendered him unconscious and the unstable magic around him dissipated. Sony mirrored her move with William, knocking him out to cancel the power.

Sam, watching from nearby, nodded and said:

"Yes… That's the only way to stop Disorder Power — knock the host unconscious."

"We know," Luna replied curtly.

David leaned in toward Sam and whispered:

"Weren't Luna and Sony supposed to be the ones who fought Camilla and Milan? But they don't look tired at all."

"You're right. And there aren't even any wounds… even though Milan's weapon is laced with poison. A single scratch would have affected them. Neither Luna nor Sony look poisoned."

"But… something's off."

"What do you mean?"

"Their clothes. They're torn in multiple places. Didn't you notice that?"

David narrowed his eyes.

"You're right. That is strange."

The truth was, Luna had used Yuna's blood to heal both herself and Sony after their earlier injuries. Although their clothes bore the marks of battle, their bodies had fully recovered. David and Sam, however, were unaware of this.

Meanwhile, Luna and Sony whispered to each other.

Sony : "Shouldn't Jayden be fighting David and Sam alongside Clara?"

Luna : "Yeah. But Clara's not even here… William took her place in the fight."

"Did they defeat her? Or… maybe kill her?"

Sony turned to Sam and David and shouted

"Where's Clara, you bastards?!"

Sam chuckled

"Ah, Sonny Delirmo. We meet again. And once again, you're asking about poor Clara. Such a kind soul, aren't you?"

He was trying to provoke him. Sam had once defeated Sony in battle — and spared his life, just to send a message to the rest of Kaos Team.

Sony clenched his fists and growled,

"Enough playing around! Tell us where she is!"

Sam : "No need to get so upset, little guy."

"Screw you!"

Sony raised his steel gauntlet, ready to charge. But Luna grabbed his arm.

"Stop. We need to find Clara first. Not waste time fighting these idiots."

"But they know where she is. We need to beat it out of them!"

"Sony, control yourself. Clara might be dying somewhere. If I don't get to her in time, she could die."

Sony lowered his weapon. David, too, no longer had the heart to fight — not with Luna.

And Luna didn't want to fight him either. Not really. She used Clara as an excuse to avoid conflict.

Sam, however, looked at David.

"I know she was like a sister to you, but she's our enemy now. We have to fight her."

David nodded reluctantly.

"I know."

Both Sam and David drew their weapons. But Luna and Sony weren't planning on staying. They grabbed Jayden and William and teleported repeatedly to escape.

David chased them, using his mastery of the Air Element. He launched razor-sharp winds at Sony — who countered with gusts of his own.

The winds clashed violently. Before Sony could recover, David lunged — incredibly fast.

Sony wasn't slow, but carrying William on his shoulder slowed him down.

Just as David was about to strike, Luna appeared out of nowhere, teleporting between them. She blocked David's attack with her metal staff, striking him in the face and knocking him back.

David grinned.

"You've gotten strong, dear sister."

Luna : "I'm not the weak girl you once knew, dear brother."

"Then I guess I'll have to fight seriously now."

"You left me no choice when you attacked Sony. He's like a brother to me, too."

Suddenly, Sam attacked, sending shards of his enchanted ice-glass wall toward them. Luna and Sony dodged, but were slightly wounded. The attack had caught them off guard — and they were still carrying Jayden and William.

Sam joined David's side. Luna and Sony prepared for battle.

The fight began — the four warriors clashing in a brutal duel. Luna fought David. Sony faced Sam. Jayden and William had been placed safely away from the battlefield.

Despite being drained from earlier battles, none of the four held back.

But something unexpected happened.

Joey — who had been observing from afar — moved toward Jayden's unconscious body. He dragged him away from William and tossed him violently to the ground.

Jayden stirred, barely conscious. He opened his eyes to see Joey, weapon aimed and already charged with two missiles.

Jayden understood immediately — this man wanted to kill him. He tried to flee, but it was too late.

The missiles hit him hard. His chest was severely burned and torn open — but he survived, thanks to his strong build. Luna had also treated his wounds as she carried him on her shoulder, using her twin sister's blood.

Jayden lay on the ground, in agony, but alive. He raised his head, barely, and saw Joey approaching, cannon on his shoulder.

"Do you remember me, Durbin?"

"No." Jayden replied, mockingly indifferent.

Joey's eyes flared with rage. He stomped on Jayden's chest — right on the wound — making him scream in pain.

"I'm Shaun's brother. The one you killed when he tried to rebel against you."

"Shaun? You mean Shaun the Sheep?"

"Stop mocking me! You're in no position to joke!"

"Not joking. Your brother was like a sheep… but weaker."

"You bastard!"

Furious, Joey loaded a flaming missile. But Jayden, despite his injuries, drew his weapon and struck Joey's stomach. Blood poured from the wound.

Jayden stood up, ready to finish him — but Joey stumbled back in time and launched his missile. Jayden tried to counter it, but was blown back and collapsed, exhausted and unable to continue.

Joey aimed his weapon again.

"Any last words?"

"Shaun the Sheep is still stronger than your brother."

Joey snarled and prepared to fire — but suddenly, a freezing arrow pierced his cannon. It froze instantly.

Yuna.

She stood nearby, joined by Salvador and Seiran.

Joey realized he was outnumbered and outmatched. He leapt back, firing a rocket to the ground to create smoke. Salvador tried to follow, but he vanished into the haze.

Yuna rushed to Jayden and began healing him. He was badly injured, but alive.

He looked up at her face, then at Seiran standing beside her.

Jayden : "Isn't that woman our enemy?"

Yuna : "She was. But we've agreed to a temporary truce. The battle is over… for now."

"Did our enemies accept this?"

"Yes. We gave them control of our base — the fight ended in a draw. And… a Fighter Division soldier almost killed Hal and Merrick."

"Are they alright?"

"Yes. I treated them. They've gone with Kuro to inform Sam and David of the truce."

"What if they refuse?"

Seiran: "They won't. Even if they did, you'd just escape and leave the base anyway. The result is the same."

"Fair enough."

Meanwhile, the battle between Luna, Sony, Sam and David raged on.

Kuro, Merrick and Hal slowly approached, observing.

"Do you think yelling at them will stop the fight?" Hal asked.

"Not sure," Kuro replied.

"Won't work," Merrick added.

"Then I have a better idea."

Kuro fired a lightning bolt at all four fighters. They dodged instantly and turned to see him waving mockingly.

"Hey there. How's it going?"

The sight was bizarre — enemies standing side by side like friends. Luna looked at Merrick, confused.

Luna : "Merrick, what's going on? Did they hurt you?"

"Do we look like we're hurting him?" Kuro replied.

"No… but we're enemies. What's in it for you to not hurt us?"

David: "She's right. Why are you standing with Merrick instead of fighting him?"

Hal: "Calm down. There's something important we need to discuss."

After a long conversation, both sides came to an agreement — a conditional truce. But control of Kaos Team's base would be handed over to the National Division.
