Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 - Forgive me teacher

Years ago, in a distant country…

Luna and Yuna sat quietly at a wooden table, sharing lunch with a man who had no hair on his head but eyes as blue as the clear summer sky. The simplicity of their surroundings—the chipped cups, the handwoven mat under the dishes, the gentle sound of a nearby river—offered an unexpected comfort.

This man ( Berky Kaoru ) was no ordinary person. He was an heir to air stone and had a long metallic rod, much like Luna. It was he who had first taught her how to use her power of air stone twice on week, she would come to this humble house nestled between a forest and a winding river to train under his guidance.

After the meal, the girls stepped outside, the air fresh and filled with the hum of insects and rustling leaves. They walked along a narrow path leading to the river, settling near its edge.

Yuna: "This is my first time meeting Mr. Kaoru. I finally get to see how he trains you."

Luna: "Technically, it's your second. We were here yesterday too."

"I mean… the first time this week."

" Whatever. Anyway, he's kind. I've been training with him for about two months now. Sixteen lessons. He feeds me, plays with me sometimes and lets me play with the baby sheep."

"Baby sheep? Seriously?"

"Yeah! He keeps a few. Want to see them?"

"Of course! I love baby sheep!"

The girls giggled and made their way to the fenced area where the animals were kept. But when they arrived, they found the gate locked tight.

Luna: "Ugh, it's locked."

Yuna: "Why don't we ask Mr. Kaoru to open it?"

"He went to fetch water from the well. It's a bit far."

"We should've asked first… forget it."

"Wait! He usually leaves the key in the living room. I'll go check!"

"Are you sure? Won't he be upset?"

"Nah. He won't mind."

"If he gets mad, it's on you. I'm not going with you—I'm not okay entering without permission."

" Fine! I'll go play with the sheep by myself idiot "

"That's not what I meant—"

"I said leave me alone!"

"Tch. Whatever."

Luna stormed off and, as she'd expected, found the key sitting on the table inside. She returned to the pen, unlocked the gate and stepped inside to play with the small sheep. Meanwhile, Yuna wandered off to use the bathroom.

When she returned, walking casually along the path, she heard her twin's voice echoing from inside the pen.

Luna (panicked) : " Yuna! Help me ! "

Yuna rushed toward the sound, spotting Luna pressed up against the inner side of the fence, both hands gripping the metal tightly.

Yuna : " What happened?"

Luna : (head lowered, cheeks red, voice sheepish) "I… lost the key. I'm stuck here like an idiot."

Yuna burst into laughter.

Yuna: " You dummy! I told you to wait!"

Luna: "Shut up and help me get out of here!"

"Why don't you just use your powers?"

"I could blast the fence with wind, but I don't want to destroy Kaoru's property. He has a second key somewhere. Please, look for it."

"Fine."

Yuna turned back toward the house and to her surprise, found Kaoru had already returned. She quickly explained what had happened.

Kaoru let out a long sigh.

"Another one of her little stunts."

Yuna: "Does she do things like this often?"

"More than I can count—getting lost in the forest, falling in the river, chased by wild dogs…"

He smiled softly.

"She reminds me of my daughter… the one I lost."

Yuna: "You had a daughter?"

"Yes. She passed away a year ago. Luna's just like her…"

"I'm sorry."

"No need. I've made peace with it. Come, let's get your sister before she starts smelling like sheep."

They both laughed faintly and started toward the pen—but suddenly, Kaoru stumbled, letting out a guttural cry. His hands flew to the back of his neck.

Yuna: "Mr. Kaoru?! What's wrong?!"

He collapsed to his knees, eyes bloodshot and blinking rapidly. He muttered under his breath in anguish:

"Vienna… don't go… Lin… stop… it's not him, it's me…"

Yuna: "Sir?! What's happening?!"

Before she could finish her sentence, Kaoru struck her with his metallic rod.

Yuna staggered back, stunned, barely able to process what had just happened. His eyes—no longer kind—were fierce and wild, filled with an unnatural rage.

He raised the rod again, this time infusing it with pressure air, locking her body in place. Then he charged forward.

Yuna summoned her water shield just in time to block his blow. The rod struck again and again, each time shaking her entire body through the barrier. From the pen, Luna could hear the struggle—screams, blows—and her body ached in response.

The twins were connected. When one suffered, the other felt it.

Luna (thinking): Yuna… she's in danger.

Trapped inside, panic rising in her chest, Luna had no time to think. Her training hadn't yet covered teleportation . But there was only one option.

She summoned a burst of furious wind , tearing through the wooden fence and rushing toward the source of the screams.

When she arrived, Kaoru had his hands wrapped around Yuna's throat.

Luna: "YUNA!"

Without hesitation, Luna rammed into Kaoru, forcing him back. She helped Yuna up.

Luna: "What's going on?!"

Yuna: "I don't know—he just snapped. He tried to kill me."

Kaoru's rod lashed out again, this time infused with pressure. It slammed into them both, knocking them apart. He turned toward Luna, his expression murderous.

She tried to defend herself—she had learned his moves, knew how he fought—but he was stronger. Older. More experienced. She couldn't keep up.

Yuna, injured but determined, struck from behind, freezing Kaoru's body in solid ice—all but his head.

She rushed to her twin side.

Yuna: "Are you okay?"

Luna: "You saved me…"

Then, without warning, Kaoru's rod flew on its own, empowered by pressure and struck Yuna square in the back. She collapsed, unconscious.

The ice shattered.

Kaoru advanced on them, relentless.

Luna tried to hold him off, but he overwhelmed her. Blow after blow landed, until suddenly—he stopped.

He dropped to his knees, clutching his head, screaming.

Kaoru : "Luna… kill me!"

Luna: "What are you saying?! I won't! You're my teacher!"

"Please! I can't control it. I'm stronger than you both. If you don't end this, I will kill the two of you!"

"No! We'll find another way!"

"I… can't… hold… on…"

His voice broke.

His eyes changed.

The kindness vanished.

And he unleashed his deadliest technique—the slicing winds.

Luna knew the move.

No time to think.

She instinctively used teleportation—for the first time in her life.

She vanished from his path, reappearing far from the blast zone.

But as she caught her breath, horror hit her: Yuna was still there. Unconscious. Helpless.

And Kaoru was going to kill her.

Luna ran like she never had before. Her body burned. Her soul screamed.

She found them—Kaoru, once again, choking the life out of her twin

There was no other choice.

If she didn't act now, she'd lose Yuna forever.

She pulled the hidden dagger from her belt.

Teleported behind him.

And drove the blade deep into his back. Again and again.

Blood spilled across her hands. The blood of the man who had trained her, fed her, played with her. The man who saw in her the daughter he'd lost.

Her hands trembled. Her face froze.

She dropped the dagger, fell to her knees and stared at the blood. Then she screamed. Loud and broken.

Later, sitting silently beside the fire, she told the story to Chris. Yuna beside her, solemn.

Chris's voice was soft.

Chris: "I'm sorry…"

Luna: "It's fine. I moved on… eventually. It took a long time. A lot of pain."

She looked up, serious now.

Yuna : "That black spider you mentioned—we found one just like it on Kaoru's neck."

Chris: "So the one who placed it on me… might be the same person?"

Luna: "Or someone connected. Either way…"

Yuna: "…we're dealing with very dangerous enemies."

Chris: "Yeah. We'll have to stay sharp."
