Chapter 45 - CHAPTER FOURTY FIVE

So perhaps he had left quite a deep impression on her.

Thinking of this, Xiao Baobao couldn't help but feel a little smug.

"I first regained consciousness 2,600 years ago. I was a little confused back then, but it was only for a brief moment..."

While they were chatting, an official came in. He coughed twice to get their attention.

Xiao Baobao was a little annoyed at being interrupted, but he quickly remembered that he was still on an official visitation. So, he thought that once he was done with his official duties, he would come back.

But thinking of the Red Dragon Association, which had kept both Ryan and Louise busy recently, Xiao Baobao called for the guards to protect Mingming.

Though the Red Dragon Association had suffered a huge blow, who knew if they would decide to take a risk, especially since Mingming seemed to possess spiritual power as well.

It was just a pity that he couldn't summon the imperial guards. Only the Emperor and Empress could utilize them.

After making sure the security around Mingming was impeccable, Xiao Baobao continued with his visitation. Once they were done on that planet, they moved on to the next.

Though throughout the entire visitation, nothing major happened.

Meanwhile, Yu Weiwei had already woken up on the sixth day, but he had no intention of calling the cubs back.

While checking on them, he saw the ruckus Yu Ziyou had caused on the Starnet. Yu Weiwei was so angry that he actually laughed, but thinking that he could fix the matter himself, he decided not to pursue it for the time being.

Yu Weiwei planned to go to the planet where Black Abyss was. The planet was called Velmora.

It was also worth touring. Velmora's primary feature was its transparent crystal flowers, which came in a variety of colours, making the entire planet look almost ethereal.

But thinking of the Empress and Emperor, who were still in meditation, Yu Weiwei felt that it would be rude to leave them behind.

While Yu Weiwei was relaxing and sunbathing, he browsed through the Starnet and occasionally checked on the cubs through the livestream.

Then, he suddenly received a message that left him completely dumbfounded.

Looking at the official message informing students about the resumption of school, Yu Weiwei abruptly realised that he hadn't actually finished school.

He was still a twenty-year-old underage kid.

The resumption was in two weeks.

Yu Weiwei sighed. He had to think of a way to settle Lin Zhile and Yu Ziyou before then. But Yu Weiwei had no intention of leaving them behind.

So, he decided to rent, or perhaps even buy, a house near the school.

Thinking about the properties he owned, Yu Weiwei went into his room and searched through the files. After a while, he finally found a mansion located near the school.

It seemed that his father, Lin Zhe, had lived there during his school days.

Yu Weiwei connected to the household robot of the mansion and ordered it to make sure the mansion was habitable in the days to come.

Before the murder case that Yu Weiwei had been involved in occurred, school had still been ongoing. He hadn't bothered going back to school because the holiday started just two days after he was discharged from the hospital.

Yu Weiwei browsed through his chats and realised that he seemed to have no friends.

Well, Yu Yuan had made sure of that.

After all, those who could attend the Imperial College were all powerful and talented individuals. Having even one of them as a friend would have been a great threat to Yu Yuan.

As he scrolled down, Yu Weiwei suddenly saw a chat with more than a hundred messages.

Curious, he tapped on it, and his expression immediately changed to one of disgust.

The messages came from Si Tian.

Yu Weiwei would have completely forgotten that someone like him existed if he hadn't tapped on the chat.

During his time in the hospital, his personal terminal had been taken away and investigated. He had blocked Si Tian and the Si family's contacts afterward.

Who knew how Si Tian had managed to get his contact number, even though he had clearly changed it?

Sighing, Yu Weiwei continued with his leisurely life.

On the seventh day, Elara finally came out of meditation.

Her body was covered in black, sticky stuff, and she smelled absolutely terrible.

"Ugh! Weiwei, you didn't tell me cultivating meant being this dirty. And I'm starving! How many days have I been out?"

"It isn't always like this. The black stuff is just impurities," Yu Weiwei explained as Elara hurriedly rushed toward the bathroom.

Speaking of impurities, Yu Weiwei suddenly realised that he hadn't given Elara and Caspian a marrow cleansing pill.

He hadn't taken one himself because the Azure Flower that had helped him reconstruct his mental core also had the same effect as a marrow cleansing pill.

When Elara came down, Yu Weiwei gave her a marrow cleansing pill but warned her about its disadvantages.

The marrow cleansing pill could basically reshape and upgrade a person's physique, but the process was extremely painful.

Failure to endure the pain and not being conscious throughout the pain would simply result in the pill being wasted.

Another downside was that the pill could only be used once in a lifetime, regardless of its grade.

Pills in cultivation worlds were divided into Xuan Grade, Earth Grade, Heaven Grade, Divine Grade, Immortal Grade, and Supreme Grade.

Xuan Grade was the lowest, while Supreme Grade was the highest.

Yu Weiwei currently had two Supreme Grade pills and dozens of pills of the other grades, but he had no intention of giving Elara either the Supreme Grade or Immortal Grade pill.

Giving Elara an Immortal Grade marrow cleansing pill would surely end in failure because only those at the SSS level could withstand its effects.

Spiritual cultivation had eight realms on the path to becoming an immortal:

Qi Condensation → Foundation Establishment → Golden Core → Nascent Soul → Soul Transformation → Mahayana → Tribulation → Immortal.

Each realm had five minor levels.

When comparing mental power to spiritual cultivation, those who reached the SSS level were considered to be at the peak of Qi Condensation.

So, back to the marrow cleansing pills.

Only those at the Golden Core realm could use an Immortal Grade pill, while those at the peak of Qi Condensation could use a Supreme Grade pill.

Yu Weiwei would have loved for Elara to advance to Golden Core before giving her the Immortal Grade marrow cleansing pill.

However, another disadvantage of the marrow cleansing pill was that its effect was at its peak when a person had only just introduced Qi into their body.

Any later, and the effect would only be equivalent to that of a Xuan Grade pill.

The people who mostly used Supreme Grade and Immortal Grade pills were those who were born with their cultivation levels already at the mid-level of the Qi Condensation realm or at the Golden Core realm.

---

Hearing about the disadvantage, which was the pain, Elara took the pill from Yu Weiwei without hesitation.

Asking a former military powerhouse whether she was afraid of such pain was practically an insult to Elara.

She might have retired, but she had still maintained her powerful physique.

Elara took the Divine Grade pill and went into the guest room.

Yu Weiwei had said that the pill would cause her to expel all those black, stinky impurities, and she still had to maintain her reputation in front of Yu Weiwei.

Seeing that Elara was awake, Yu Weiwei decided to go and visit Black Abyss since Elara would now be able to watch over Caspian.

Though he only roughly described the situation to her before leaving.

Yu Weiwei arrived at Velmora three hours later.

Using his father Lin Zhe's Imperial Authority Card, Yu Weiwei entered smoothly without encountering any obstruction.

Yu Weiwei clicked his tongue in astonishment at how easily he had gotten in. Lin Zhe had received the card from Caspian twenty-one years ago, before Yu Weiwei had even been born.

He had possessed it in his past life as well and had used it during his trial in that lifetime.

Back then, he had used the card to escape death after being accused of murder by Yu Yuan. He hadn't been able to prove his innocence and didn't want to use the Truth Seer, so he had resorted to using the card.

Though he had been pardoned from the death penalty, he was still sentenced to juvenile prison for a full six months.

Those six months had been hell for the twenty-year-old Yu Weiwei, who had been twenty in both soul and body.

Yu Weiwei walked toward Black Abyss and tapped on it, but it remained completely still without showing the slightest reaction.

To be honest, it wasn't Mingming's fault for not responding.

After Xiao Baobao had finished his official business on Velmora, he had returned to Black Abyss.
