Sora's POV
Yejin and I arrived at my house in no time.
The ride back felt shorter than usual, probably because my mind was too busy replaying everything that had just happened at the hospital.
Isaac's parents.
Yeongjae.
The truth I should have known from the beginning.
When we stepped inside the building, I stopped at the foot of the stairs and turned to Yejin.
"Yejin," I said quietly. "Can you call Micah for me? I need to talk to him and you before I leave."
Her eyebrows shot up immediately.
"Hey, wait a minute," she said. "Where will you go?"
Her voice rose slightly.
"This is your property. If there's anyone who needs to leave, that should be Yeongjae. Not you."
I let out a tired breath.
"I'll stay in the pet shop for a while," I said. "Just a few days. I need to clear my head."
Yejin crossed her arms.
"And you can't clear your head here?"
"Not when he's living next door."
The words tasted bitter in my mouth.
