Because now Yeongjae was above me, hovering, caging me in with his arms, looking at me like I was something he intended to devour completely.

“Did you have fun playing with me?” he asked, the corner of his mouth lifting in a dangerous smirk.

“I—I wasn’t playing with—”

“Shut up.”

Before I could react, his hand was on my jaw, holding me still as his mouth crashed into mine. His tongue swept inside, deep and claiming, stealing every ounce of control I thought I still had.

“Mmm—” I tried to protest, but the sound dissolved into a helpless moan when his body pressed closer.

I was already lost.

Before I could even adjust, he added another, curling them just the right angle while his thumb began rubbing tight circles.

“Then I guess I have work to do,” he said quietly. “I’ll just have to convince you.”

Before I could react, he shifted down the bed, his hands sliding along my thighs as he spread my legs apart.

“Yeongjae, wait, I haven’t—fu…”

The way he said it—trying… like it had been a war he kept losing.


"Then why are you back?" I asked, latching onto the safer question and pretending my heart wasn't flipping over the fact that he just admitted he ran away because of me.
