I stormed back to the infirmary, a thundercloud hanging over my head. Pack members warily steered clear of me, afraid to be the recipient of my unintended wrath. One pup accidentally met my eyes and burst into tears, and had to be hastily pulled away and comforted by his mother.
Any other time, I would feel more apologetic for scaring the poor boy. But this time, all I could think about was Iris siding with Healer Felix, staying in his house, wearing the clothes he bought for her, eating his food, sleeping on his bed…
