"No!" I watched helplessly, falling backwards as Gamma Jackson's wolf form nearly took off Caius's very human head.
Caius immediately transformed to fend him off, but I knew our chances of survival were slim.
Gamma Jackson's wolf's smile was a slash across his face, revealing rows of jagged white teeth. He didn't seem at all bothered that he had missed the kill. If anything, he looked thrilled that the hunt had not ended so easily.
The crackle of bones echoed through the clearing, and I could only watch in horror as Gamma Jackson's men shifted into their wolf forms one by one. They surrounded Caius and snapped at him. My heart was in my throat as I watched Caius dodge their strikes by the skin of his teeth.
