Piloting her Mecha, Zoe Pierce stood under the setting sun and flicked the blood off her machine's arm.
The silver-gray Mecha was now caked with the dried blood of Xenobeasts, giving it a terrifying appearance.
Of course, it wasn't just Zoe Pierce's Mecha that was stained with blood. The same was true for Chase Shaw's and the others'.
A thorough cleaning would have to wait until the entire operation was over.
Seeing Zoe Pierce standing motionless, Chase Shaw asked over the channel, "What's wrong?"
Zoe Pierce squinted at the clouds, which were painted in layers of color by the setting sun. "This rescue mission feels... a little too smooth," she said.
