In the classroom, An Ning, seated in the back near the door, lowered her head with a warm smile.
'These idiots...'
They had clearly heard the news. They knew the other students would ostracize her, so they had put on this show of solidarity first thing in the morning.
"An Ning?"
An Ning looked up from her desk to see all the boys from her class standing before her.
The class president and student representatives stood at the front, with the rest of the boys forming a semicircle facing her.
"Can I help you?"
An Ning's voice was low and cool. 'She wanted to see just how many people a baseless rumor could expose.'
"An Ning, on behalf of the entire class, I want to tell you that we believe in you."
"Yeah, we believe you. You would never do something like that."
"That's right! You're our god, An Ning. Those people out there have no idea what kind of person you are."
"Exactly! You're the god of our math department. Don't pay any mind to that mindless crowd."
