Xiao Hu cheered at his uncle's words. The bedding at Grandma's house was much softer than his own, and it had a lovely scent. His own blanket, on the other hand, reeked of pee. He didn't even dare bury his face in it.
"Alright, that's enough shouting," Xiao Furen urged him. "Hurry inside and tell your parents. It's getting late. If we head back now, we'll be just in time for your grandma to have dinner ready."
"Okay! Don't leave without me, I'll be right back!" Like a little monkey, Xiao Hu leaped nimbly from the back of the car and sprinted toward his family's courtyard. "Dad!" he yelled as he ran. "Aunt and Uncle are here to get me! I'm going to Grandma's for meat! I'm not coming back tonight, so don't miss me! Uncle said he'll take me straight to school tomorrow morning!"
Great. Now the whole courtyard knew his business.
