Erin Lowell walked in and pressed the button for her floor. As more people entered, she shifted a couple of steps to the side, leaning against the far-left wall with her head slightly bowed.
The elevator stopped on the seventeenth floor. The hallway was bustling with noise. A few workers stood by a doorway, a cabinet placed next to them as they waited for the elevator on the left.
Erin Lowell skirted around them. A voice called out her name from behind.
"Erin Lowell."
His tone seemed laced with a smile. It was a smoky voice, yet more pleasant than an early autumn breeze brushing past her ear.
The hand she was using to key in her passcode froze. She turned her head, her eyes meeting his perfectly.
Erin Lowell swallowed subconsciously, her usual composure vanishing completely.
'Stalking? Robbery...?'
Just as she was about to speak, he beat her to it. "What are you doing here?"
