The incessant ringing of the doorbell finally woke Jiang Qiuqiu.
"Miss Jiang, are you there?"
Jiang Qiuqiu lifted her hand and glanced at her terminal. She'd just woken up, and to her surprise, it was already three-thirty.
Her headache had eased. She got to her feet, but a wave of dizziness washed over her, perhaps because she'd moved too fast.
She stood still for a moment to steady herself, then walked to the door. After checking the entryway's monitor and confirming it was the security guard, Jiang Qiuqiu opened it.
However, it wasn't the Federation police who came in, but three soldiers in dark green military uniforms.
"Hello, Miss Jiang." A female soldier stepped in front of Jiang Qiuqiu. She wasn't smiling, but her expression was reassuring and her voice was steady as she took Jiang Qiuqiu's hand. "We're here to ask about what happened this afternoon."
At first, everyone remained standing.
