The cause of death was poison.
Because it was a suicide, the police closed the case quickly. When she was brought in and the body bag was unzipped, Han Su saw that the deceased's lower body was a mess. Her family hadn't even bothered to clean her.
After her husband passed away, the old woman moved into a nursing home to free up her house for her grandson, who couldn't afford one, to get married. She had lived there for over a decade.
She had taken the poison because when her daughter's son got married, her daughter didn't even come to pick her up for the wedding banquet. That, and everything that followed, made her heart turn to ash.
Several days passed after the wedding, but the old woman still hadn't received an explanation. She called her daughter, who explained cheerfully in front of her new daughter-in-law:
