By the time Su Li and Little Tang Mo were on their way back, the sky was growing dim, but it wasn't completely dark yet.
The streets were nearly empty because of the cold. The few people who were out hurried along.
Su Li and Little Tang Mo had just finished eating, so they were still warm. That, plus the fact they were walking slowly to avoid slipping, made the cold bearable.
They were just a short distance from home when they heard a vendor's cry from the alley across the street: "Black sesame soup!"
Both Su Li's and Little Tang Mo's eyes lit up.
Back then, black sesame soup was a rare and delicious treat.
Su Li loved it too. Black sesame soup was one of the most delicious foods available.
Aside from milk candies, it was also one of Little Tang Mo's favorites.
He was already a foodie, and on a cold day like this, a bowl of hot black sesame soup was simply irresistible.
"Little Mo, do you want some?"
