Henry Stark's car and Sylvia Brooks's arrived at the scene, one right after the other.
When Zephyr saw Henry Stark, he considered him something of an acquaintance.
"You're here. Guess my job is done," Zephyr muttered. It spread its wings, gave them a couple of flaps, and lifted its talons from Sidney Gomez's scalp to circle low overhead.
Henry Stark glanced at Zephyr, then his gaze fell upon Sidney Gomez.
Seeing the ghastly wound on the man's scalp, Henry Stark asked calmly, "What happened?"
Sidney Gomez was slumped on the ground, his face deathly pale. He spoke weakly, "Officer, am I... am I going to die?"
Sylvia Brooks got out of her car and greeted Henry Stark. Her eyes suddenly landed on Sidney Gomez, and she couldn't help but frown before quickly walking over to Phoebe Sawyer.
"Phoebe, Sawyer."
"Sylvia." Phoebe threw herself into Sylvia's arms, the tears she'd been fighting back finally uncontrollable.
