Dusk draped itself like a thin veil over the world. Billionaire Budgie flapped its wings, its claws gripping a branch firmly.
The next second, the man grabbed Winnie's arms, demanding, "Tell me the truth. Do you love me or not?"
"Ben, what nonsense are you talking about?" Winnie cooed. "Of course I love you. If I didn't love you, why would I let you touch me?"
Benjamin Shepherd, however, did not crack a smile at her answer.
He squeezed her arms even tighter, each word seeming to be forced through clenched teeth. "Is that right? Then besides me, are you also in love with other men?"
The smile on Winnie's face froze, her eyes flickering guiltily. "Ben, there you go talking nonsense again. You're the only man in my life."
"Are you sure?" Benjamin Shepherd stared at her, his gaze frighteningly grim.
An inexplicable unease washed over Winnie. She swallowed nervously and tried to sound casual. "Of course I'm sure. Ben, what's wrong? Why are you asking such a weird question?"
