Kyle Morgan was in his police uniform. Hearing what he said, the old woman looked over at Renee Jennings. "Is this young lady a cop, too?"
"Yes," Henry Stark said gravely. "Your grandson was almost bitten by that Kaiser. It was our colleague who saved him."
Sawyer held out their phone. "See for yourself."
She had started recording a video from the moment she arrived at the park, and she had happened to capture the perilous scene.
The old woman saw the Kaiser slithering up behind her precious grandson, its head raised and tongue flicking, clearly about to strike.
She shuddered with belated fear and quickly apologized to Renee Jennings. "I'm so sorry, miss. I misunderstood..."
Renee Jennings gave her a cold glance and walked behind the tree.
The Kaiser, intimidated by her aura, had already retreated, coiling up the trunk of a small tree and turning its head toward Renee Jennings.
