Cheng Yu approached the small courtyard, looking around. "The stables are right next door," she said. "Isn't it noisy at night?"
Jiang Man was baffled. She was acting as if this was all some great novelty, and he had no idea why she was here.
So he asked her directly, "Miss Cheng, what brings you here?"
Hearing this, Cheng Yu looked away, but her eyes widened in surprise when she saw the Old Yellow Ox. "You raise an ox?"
Jiang Man glanced at the Old Yellow Ox and nodded. "Yes."
Cheng Yu didn't press the matter. Instead, she said, "I'm here to deliver something. It had to be delivered to you personally, and since I'm in a hurry, I had to bother you this late."
"Deliver something?" Jiang Man was a little curious.
He racked his brain but couldn't think of anything that would connect him to the woman standing before him.
