Jamie's camouflage was quite meticulous.
The outer layer was covered with a camouflage tarp. Beneath it, he'd laid a moisture-proof mat on the ground. He lay prone on the mat, covered by a thick wool blanket.
This was for warmth and also to block his body heat, preventing thermal imaging detection.
"Peter, go wait over there."
Seeing the wolf-dog trying to get closer, Jamie waved it away.
The wolf-dog's name was Peter.
The name came from a legend.
When he was a child, his father was an abusive alcoholic and his mother had a bad temper. Jamie's favorite thing to do was curl up in the family attic and read all sorts of strange and bizarre storybooks.
In one of these storybooks, he had read the legend of the Werewolf of Bedford Castle.
And the name of the werewolf in that story was Peter Stump.
The wolf-dog was very obedient and immediately lay down nearby.
