The Labrador turned its head and looked at Tian Kui, bewildered.
Iron-Clad Gold sidled up.
'Boss, should we take him?'
'This wire fence is nothing. We could slip right through.'
Da Mei got all worked up, running over to Tian Kui and meowing, its big eyes full of excitement.
Tian Kui bared his teeth at Iron-Clad Gold, then turned and barked a few times at his pack.
'Have you all forgotten what Master said? We're just here to say hello. Don't start trouble, but don't run from it, either.'
'Let's go.'
Tian Kui barked once and turned to leave.
He glanced back one last time in the direction where Proteus had disappeared.
'The local gang isn't very polite.'
A fight didn't break out, and Shen Xin was completely unaware of what had happened.
