The platform was covered in jade-green grass as soft as a cushion, with strange and wonderful flowers in full bloom.
To one side, a grove of emerald bamboo stood tall like a verdant cliff. At the edge of the woods was a placid lake, and by its shore stood a resplendent, golden-roofed palace.
This was none other than Madam Ye's Cave Mansion.
Li Yan Nian halted his Escape Light about a hundred feet from the palace. He then bowed deeply toward it and, making his voice as respectful as possible, announced, "Outer Disciple of the Yinluo Sect, Li Yan Nian, requests an audience with Elder Ye."
Inside the palace, Madam Ye, dressed in plain robes, was in deep meditation. Hearing the voice outside, a flash of displeasure crossed her face. "What is it?" she asked coolly.
Her voice carried out of the palace, its echo lingering in the air.
