The explosion lasted for two full hours. The underground magma erupted continuously for a day and a night before finally curbing its violent momentum. The sky was completely blotted out by thick volcanic ash; sunlight could not penetrate the veil, turning the daylight into a dark red dusk.
The terrain within a two-hundred-kilometer radius was completely reshaped. The originally towering volcanic cluster had vanished. In its place were dozens of massive, smoking craters, looking like gruesome acne scars on the face of the earth. Boiling magma gathered at the bottom of these craters to form a new sea of fire. Dark red bubbles churned and burst on the surface, spewing lethal toxic gas. A pungent stench of sulfur filled the air, and the temperature was high enough to ignite clothing.
Deep inside the main workshop, the Meditation Room was completely silent.
"Battle damage assessment complete," Jarvis began his post-war report.
