Disappointment was evident in Ning Fang's voice. Wanyun patted her hand and said, "Sister Xiao Fang, you still have me, Yue'er, and Xing'er. Don't be sad."
Ning Fang said, "Yunyun, I'm so sorry. Today was supposed to be your birthday, but my troubles have ruined it for you."
Wanyun quickly replied, "Sister, don't say that. Just seeing you, Yue'er, and Xing'er is enough to make my birthday complete. What are your plans for the future?"
Ning Fang sighed. "My mind is a mess right now. I don't know what to do... Madam Sheng is his mother, after all. In the eyes of the world, she's in the right."
Wanyun said, "Didn't Brother-in-law Sheng say he would rather die than marry anyone else? Don't worry, Sister. As long as he's on your side, at worst, I can have my husband issue an imperial decree for your marriage."
Ning Fang looked at Wanyun. "Thank you, Yunyun. I need some time to think this through. Sheng Xin... Sigh."
