"He's only just over five years old," Wanyun said, a bit puzzled.
Lin Bei added from the side, "Zhang'er is extremely bright. He won't hold Miss Rong back."
"It's not that I'm worried he'll hold anyone back," Wanyun said. "I'm the one who's always lagging behind at the academy. I'm just afraid he won't be able to keep up. Mr. Liu has been lecturing a bit quickly recently."
"That won't be a problem," Lu Jingxing said. "I had already memorized the Four Books and Five Classics when I was five. So, you don't need to worry about him being unable to keep up with *your* pace."
Wanyun was quite frustrated. Shi Zhang was sad to hear that his teacher was leaving, but he was also very happy that he would get to study with Wanyun.
During the meal, Lu Jingxing, Lin Bei, and Little Shizhang all observed strict dining etiquette. As the odd one out, Wanyun didn't feel it was appropriate to talk much.
