When Cao Jitong returned to the ducal mansion, He Lan Yun was waiting for him. Seeing him return, she immediately rushed up to him. "How did it go? Is there any news?"
"I'll have to make an appearance outside Taixi Hall for the next few days. Tomorrow, it'd be best to kneel for a few hours. If you're going to put on an act, you have to see it through." Cao Jitong helped his wife sit down. "You don't need to worry anymore. His Majesty has dispatched Prince Zhenbei to the south, so we can all rest easy."
This was Prince Zhenbei they were talking about. Even if he hadn't won every single battle, he was still the God of War of their Great Chu. When Beiming had provoked them back then, His Majesty hadn't even been willing to let Prince Zhenbei lead the troops. This was because the Prince was covered in old wounds from years of campaigns, and the Emperor, considerate of his old minister, was especially protective of him.
