"Witch Doctor Qiao Xixi, what are you doing here?"
It was Hei Zong.
Qiao Xixi steeled herself and turned around.
"I got some medicine from Sangji Witch Doctor and was just about to head back to treat Sunxiao."
Hei Zong's dark eyes were unreadable, and she couldn't tell whether he believed her or not.
"How are Sunxiao's injuries?"
"They're no longer life-threatening."
Hei Zong nodded. "I'll go with you to take a look."
Qiao Xixi glanced toward the secret room, nodded, and left the main district with Hei Zong.
On the way, Qiao Xixi gave Hei Zong a few odd looks.
He was a tall man, and his legs were longer than hers, but his strides were extremely small.
It was as if he were deliberately stalling for time.
Qiao Xixi frowned. 'Could something be wrong where Sunxiao is?'
With that thought, Qiao Xixi decided she wouldn't waste any more time on him and quickened her pace toward the stone house.
