Thinking of the miserable fates of those who had been abandoned before, the man shook his head frantically.

But things rarely go as planned. Before the man could figure out how to send a new person over, the phone on the coffee table suddenly rang.
That specific ringtone made the man's heart skip a beat.
With no time for second thoughts, the man quickly answered the call.
"How are things looking lately? It's been a while since you sent any new information." A lazy, feminine voice came from the other end of the line.
The man forced a smile and said, "Everything's normal, Boss."
"Those cops are just going out on their daily patrols, making their rounds and coming back the same day. I haven't seen any important figures come this way."
"It's been exactly the same as before, nothing out of the ordinary, so I took the liberty of not reporting to you."
