The moment they got the confession, the provincial bureau sent a team over. The bastards got tipped off and tried to run, but they were all caught," Evan Keller said with a smile, waving the file in his hand at Zoe, his voice filled with delight.
Zoe heard him out. 'This is great news,' she thought. 'So why did everyone look like someone had died when I walked in?'
'I thought something else had gone wrong!'
Evan Keller, perhaps sensing Zoe's angry glare, coughed awkwardly.
He had just wanted to tease her a little.
Realizing it wasn't anything serious, Zoe let out a sigh of relief. As long as everything was okay, that was all that mattered.
