As he spoke, Javier Sinclair leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead. When he lifted his head, he gently stroked her hair and said in a low voice, "You've been through so much, my wife."
Hearing this, Celeste Grant glanced at him. She smiled slightly and squeezed his hand in return, saying softly, "I'm fine. But you... I know you were in a lot of pain all night." Her gaze fell to his forehead, where his hair was still damp. She reached out and gently brushed it aside.
"It must have been hard on you."
Her voice was light, but her tone was gentle.
Javier Sinclair froze for a moment, slightly embarrassed. He gently took her wrist and said in a hushed voice, "How could it have been hard on me? You were giving birth to our child. As your husband, it was the least I could do."
