Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Heaven-defying Martial Skill

After calming his excitement, Ye Tian slowly asked, "What kind of Cultivation Technique is it? Is it difficult?"

"Even my most basic Cultivation Techniques are stronger than the most powerful one in your family. Don't be an ungrateful brat!" the Divine Dragon grumbled irritably.

Ye Tian knew the War Dragon wasn't lying. The War Dragons were the most powerful clan of the Dragon Race during Ancient Times. Naturally, they possessed numerous Heaven-defying Cultivation Techniques and Martial Skills. Meeting one could only be described as a stroke of immense fortune.

Before he could even speak, a piercing pain shot through his mind, as if countless ants were gnawing away at him. Ye Tian couldn't help but cry out.

He discovered many profound, golden Runes appearing in his mind. The script was bizarre, completely different from any he recognized, which left him feeling a little vexed.

'After all, I've gone through all this pain and still haven't gotten what I wanted.' Anyone would feel aggrieved in such a situation. But Ye Tian could only endure it; he didn't have the guts to argue with the Divine Dragon.

An unknown amount of time passed before the golden Runes in his mind vanished, and the pain disappeared along with them. However, beads of sweat still clung to Ye Tian's handsome face.

"The golden Runes in your mind are actually the Dragon Language, which is unique to my Dragon Race. It's impossible for you to learn the Dragon Language right now, but I can convert it into your own tongue. How much you can comprehend will depend on you," the Divine Dragon said, its voice weak.

Ye Tian could clearly feel the Divine Dragon's voice growing fainter, becoming somewhat ethereal. He knew time was short and he had to devote himself completely to comprehending and memorizing the Cultivation Technique.

A long string of intelligible words then echoed in his mind. Ye Tian focused with all his might, committing every sound to memory.

Ye Tian was naturally gifted. Before, he would have been able to remember half of it at best. But now, having had his constitution transformed by the Dragon Pearl, he was completely reborn.

"I truly cannot help you any further. From now on, you must seize your own path! Use Spirit Medicine and Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi to make your body stronger. Only then can you absorb the Energy within the Dragon Pearl. I hope you won't disappoint me..." The Divine Dragon's voice trailed off and then fell silent.

A flicker of disappointment crossed Ye Tian's face, but he quickly composed himself. He began to slowly recall the mysterious Cultivation Technique the Divine Dragon had just transmitted into his mind.

At first, Ye Tian didn't have much of a reaction. But gradually, his calm expression began to crack. The Divine Dragon had actually given him three Cultivation Techniques, and all of them were of the highest tier.

Any single one of them was enough to shake the entire Celestial Dragon Continent. Aside from the technique for concealing one's Power Realm, which seemed somewhat minor in comparison, the other two were truly Heaven-defying.

One was a Body Technique, and the other a Martial Skill. The Body Technique was called Dragon Form Hundred Transformations, while the Martial Skill was the Battle Dragon Technique.

Although both the Body Technique and the Martial Skill were top-tier arts, Ye Tian discovered he could actually attempt the Cultivation of the First Form of Dragon Form Hundred Transformations. Its text was profound, yet barely comprehensible.

The Martial Skill, however, was more difficult. The Battle Dragon Technique was actually a fusion of War Dragon Martial Skills, divided into a Fist Technique, a Leg Technique, and a Sword Technique. The Sword Technique was the most profound; named Chaos Thunder Strike, it required one to open three Dragon Veins before its Cultivation could begin.

Opening three Dragon Veins was an incredibly difficult feat. For Ye Tian, currently at the Fourth Layer of a single Dragon Vein, it was an unattainable goal.

The Fist Technique and Leg Technique were less difficult; their Cultivation could begin once two Dragon Veins were opened. Of course, the requirements would grow stricter the further one progressed. Ye Tian was well aware of this.

What he needed to do now was master the Cultivation and Martial Skills that were within his grasp. Breaking through to the Fourth Layer meant he could stay here, and he intended to make those who had looked down on and insulted him pay the price.

"Ye Shixue! I will carve the pain of yesterday into my very heart. One day, I will make you understand what regret is! I will show you what it means to be blind and foolish!" Ye Tian said, his face devoid of expression.

After calming his anger, Ye Tian sat on his bed and prepared to try cultivating the Martial Skill the Divine Dragon had taught him—the one that could conceal his Power Level.

He knew that with his current Power Realm, he could barely conceal his Power Level by a single rank. The stronger he became, the more ranks he could hide. Once he opened three Dragon Veins, he could make it seem as though he only had one. Feigning weakness to ambush the strong would be incredibly easy.

Ye Tian began to recall the essentials of the Cultivation Technique, slowly feeling his way through the process. An unknown amount of time later, he slowly opened his eyes, a hint of pleasant surprise on his face.

"'This is hardly just about concealing my power! It's clearly a peerless Body Cultivation Martial Skill that countless people could only dream of! That War Dragon has treated me far too well!' Ye Tian exclaimed with a happy laugh."

It turned out that the so-called technique for concealing one's Power Level was actually a Body Cultivation technique named Vajra Divine Dragon Body. Concealing one's power was merely its most basic function, which only required one to restrain their aura and store the Spiritual Power from their bloodline in their Dantian.

But even this basic function was extremely difficult for the current Ye Tian. Learning to store Spiritual Power in his Dantian would take some time to master.

The Cultivation Techniques the Divine Dragon had imparted to Ye Tian were all Heaven-defying. Reaching the Mahayana Realm with any of them would be incredibly difficult. At the same time, Ye Tian also understood that there was no such thing as a free lunch.

'To be given something so precious means the price I'll have to pay will surely be enormous. Besides, these Cultivation Techniques are so profound; who knows how long it will take to master them. For now, all I can do is take it one step at a time.'

He glanced out the window and saw that it was already dawn. 'To think that just receiving the Cultivation Techniques took almost an entire day and night.' Ye Tian was amazed.

It was time for morning training. He decided to go to the Martial Arts Training Ground again. Now that he had broken through to the Fourth Layer of his Dragon Vein, he shouldn't have to endure as much ridicule.

Ye Tian had no intention of hiding his breakthrough to the Fourth Layer. The family tournament was still some time away, and he hoped to reach the Fifth Layer before then. Hiding his strength at that point would have a much greater impact.

Breaking through to the Fourth Layer granted him access to the family's Martial Arts Pavilion, where he could select better Martial Skills for Cultivation. Only with proper Martial Skills would he have a chance of defeating others.

When he arrived at the Martial Arts Training Ground, the vast space was practically deserted. Ye Tian wanted to see for himself the difference between his current Fourth-Layer Dragon Vein and his old self.

Just as he was about to practice his most familiar Martial Skill, the Thunderbolt Fist, the sound of something sharp cutting through the air came from not far away.

Following the sound, his gaze fell upon a familiar figure brandishing a longsword. 'Ye Shixue? What's she doing here so early?' Ye Tian wondered…
