As Beichen Ximen struggled violently, the branch that had snagged her clothes snapped in two.
Beichen Ximen let out a terrified scream as she plummeted from the air. It looked as though she was about to land in the Lotus Pond, which was swarming with man-eating fish.
Just at that critical moment...
A fiery red light shot over from beyond the Lotus Pond. A sharp aura whistled through the air, wrapped around Beichen Ximen's body, and whipped her back to safety.
Just like that, Beichen Ximen was rescued, pulled back as if she were being wrapped in a blanket.
She was spared the fate of ending up in the fishes' mouths.
"Ximin, my precious daughter, you're all right! Thank goodness you're all right!" Wang Fei murmured repeatedly, still shaken as she looked at Beichen Ximen in her arms.
"Waaaah, wuuu..."
Beichen Ximen was stunned for a moment, but upon seeing Wang Fei, she finally broke down and began to wail.
