Chapter 6 - Chapter 006: Courage Of The Shy?

ANNOUNCEMENT!

I saw on the chapter before that there was a draw between the answers on the poll. Now I'll be the deal breaker. This will be a none harem fiction. Simply because I view it as something that's childish and nonsensical—The only reason I asked earlier was to gain your preference and hopefully bring to you satisfaction.

My personal opinion is that a man who cannot control his lust is no weaker than the man that refuses to forge his body. Here in this chapter I introduce some slice of life to the chaoticness of the mother-son duo as they enjoy a day out together. I'll leave an explaination to the end of the chapter as well.

Happy reading!

Ryūjin had finally arrived at his home. He stood at the doorsteps, his figure advancing as he entered. He released a somewhat tired breath. It just felt like he was holding his breath a lot today. A bad habit that diminishes the force behind his punches and kicks.

He needed to train hard, to breathe out of that bad habit. Anything that weakens you needs to bleed and evolve. The Hanma way. He took off his shoes as he called out to his mother yet strangely, he got no reply.

Lifting his head slightly though he was crouched—Ryūjin walked towards the kitchen, a place his mother always finds solace in. Yet, as he entered no one was to be seen. Looking around however, was when he finally saw it. A sticky note attached to the fridge.

Approaching it he slowly read it aloud. "Hey Ryu-chan! Mama here, if you're seeing this it means I'm out with some of my girlfriends just catching up!

There's food in the fridge you can reheat or if you want just order whatever you need! Oh and I know you made me proud today. XOXO, your mama!" As he read it through, softly at first and then loudly towards the end, the smile that graced his face only furthered.

'This lady..' Was all he could think of, even when she's not around she still says the sweetest things. He turned around and left the kitchen. Though he'd not expected his mother to be out tonight, there was nothing he could do about that. Retreating to the shower and then after to his bed.

He lay there, staring at the ceiling spacing out in seconds. His thoughts drifted. He recounted his previous life—it wasn't as vivid as it once was. It was fading away, his new life replacing the old entirely.

He sighed. He looked back to his friendship with Izuku, how he was now a stark contrast to his previous meek and cowardly character. He looked back to his assimilation rate with OFA and the physical changes in his body.

This wasn't just a slight alteration. Especially since it was the canonically secured protagonist of this world. He knew that things were different compared to when this world was merely fictional.

He had slowly accepted it over the years but the uncertainty of not knowing the true changes his existence had caused, only bothered him the more he thought about it.

He turned over to his side, that sapphire-red hair falling gracefully down his cheek, his burnt-gold irises glistening with thoughtfulness.

'I can no longer even say with certainty that AFO is the peak of my future adversaries.

With how different Izuku became—with the input of a supposed Hanma legacy that was carried by my supposed centuries-old father and the existence of my mother, Iron Matron—this world was no longer the one I knew.'

His thoughts were heavy, he couldn't think of anything but these. He sighed, a little longer than he had imagined.

His eyes finally sealed away as he decided to think no more of the future to come.

'Let it come. I'll be ready, waiting.'

That was his declaration before finally, sleep claimed him. The next morning came as quickly as the night had passed.

Ryūjin woke up to the sounds of birds chirping and the rays of the morning sunlight gracing his face.

He shifted to get up when he suddenly realized what lay atop his frame. He looked down at it, rubbing his eyes as he reached out to grope its fabric.

It was a thick and heavy blanket—warm enough to make ice sweat.

In his mind, a certain face flickered briefly. A smile slowly graced his lips before a warm chuckle rolled out a moment after.

He uncovered himself, tidying his room quickly before freshening up and heading down to greet his mother.

Reaching the stairs below he couldn't help but take in the delicious fragrant that permeated the air.

Sausages cooked to perfection—blueberry topped pancakes on the side of it with eggs scrambled and flavored.

Ryūjin laughed, his hunger growing as he rushed to the kitchen. There he saw his mother, tall and always upright, cooking and preparing a hefty breakfast for them.

"You're awake! Come and sit down Ryū, breakfast is finished." Her gaze never lifted as she set the table, yet that warmth in her voice was undeniably welcoming.

His grin softened into something only his mother could bring out of him.

"Thanks mom, really you're the best." He said softly as he approached her, greeting her with a slight peck on the cheek before sitting down to eat.

That was something he used to begrudgingly agree to do in order to cease his mother's incessant nagging. But now? If he did not greet his mother with such warmth, his day would not have started.

Her smile widened into a grin, staring at the boy who she remembered used to run around and beat up the other kids in kindergarten like it was nothing.

This was her pride, her joy and her reason for becoming gentler.

"So, how was it? Tell me about everything! Did you bust some ass? Save a damsel in distress? Did you meet Izu-chan? Tell me!" Her fork stabbed into some sausages as her jubilant voice reached his ears.

He matched her grin as he mirrored her movements, beginning to recount the entirety of yesterday's events.

Her eyes sparked as he spoke, her enthusiasm mirroring that of a kid watching their favorite superhero in action.

Laughter filled the house that morning as forks scrapped plates and mother and son bonded. "And then Izuku said to Bakugo—" Ryūjin suddenly shifted his facial muscles as he mimicked his best friend's expression, "Bring it on, explosion boy!"

"BAHAHAHA!! He really said that?? Bakugo must've turned red as hell!" She laughed.

They finished breakfast together—Ryūjin volunteered to take care of the dishes, urging his mother to relax.

His mother, ever the busy body, protested against it and decided to forcefully help him with drying them up after he'd rinsed them.

Silence hung between them, but it wasn't the suffocating kind. It was kind and comforting.

"Since we're free today, you wanna go get ice-cream after this? There's a new desert place that opened a few blocks down. I've been itching to try it out for a while!"

The silence fell to his mother's words, she seemed somewhat eager about the idea suggested.

Ryūjin lifted his head, glancing at her with raised eyebrows. "I thought you wanted to cut down on sugar?" He asked genuinely surprised.

She furrowed her brows slightly, "So what? A girl can't reward her son once in a while? Who's to say I was gonna eat it, huh?!"

Her tone was stern but the playfulness was evident.

Ryūjin cackled at her remark, "You just said you've been eager to try it out. Are you sure this is to reward me? Or is this just an excuse to stuff your face!" He laughed aloud, his words accusatory.

"You must have forgotten something, mister—I'm your mother!" She screeched as her hands reached out to his ears, promising a painful session.

Ryūjin's face drained as he looked at the fastened hands that shot towards him. Time slowed in that instance as a loud, rhythmic beating suddenly came into existence.

Iron Edict's Fourth Cycle—

—King's Engine

BANG—

Ryūjin vanished instantly before the hands could reach him—in the spot where he previously stood, a compressed gust of wind exploded out with a crackling bang.

"THAT'S UNFAIR! WHAT YOU SAID MADE NO SENSE AND IS COMPLETELY CONTRADICTING!" His words echoed from afar yet carried over to her ears as loud as if he were in front of her.

Veins of frustration piled at her temple as her body flickered out of its previous spot, a quieter reaction released from the environment encasing her.

Swoosh!

"GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE, HANMA RYŪJIN!!!" Her eyes were literal flames and her frame had seemingly doubled in size at that point.

Ryūjin, however, laughed at her response provocatively.

He laughed wildly as they played cat and mouse for an entire thirty minutes, finally coming to a stop after she had cornered him and riddled his head with large bumps.

"T-This is impossible!" Ryūjin couldn't help but shout in disbelief. His large hands gently clutched the towers of bumps atop his head.

Viverion smirked, prideful and bashing. "You think you've outgrown these hands of mine? Boya, I used to wear those who underestimated me on T-shirts back then!"

Ryūjin stared at her in shock. 'Impossible! Absolutely impossible!! She has to be linked to some sort of cosmic energy source. Maybe it's the legendary Toon Force? Damn it! Is this how Luffy felt receiving Grandpa Garp's fists of love?!'

Ryūjin couldn't take it anymore and simply gave up. He rose his arms in defeat as he succumbed to the prominent ass whopping that was promised. All that was seen in that moment was the oncoming of the devil. A very beautiful and ruthless version of it too.

'Aw shit—'

[A few moments later.]

Ryūjin came out of the shower, his head no longer swollen, though the ending result earlier had traumatized him further.

Mom's strength was far too strong for his current approach. So he thought and thus, began strategically breaking down potential weak points.

Though a certain call from downstairs immediately shut down all such thinking.

He hurried over to his bedroom, quickly changing into an oversized black long sleeve that somehow highlighted further the fact that he was built.

On his legs he wore a blend of a somewhat baggy fitted cargo pants, dark gray in color and a neat pair of white sneakers on his feet.

With a quick spray of his favorite cologne, All Might Gaultier—Ryūjin fixed his hair before turning and heading towards his mother.

Viverion turned towards the oncoming sound of footsteps, her eyes landing sharply on her son.

She smiled softly, "Looking good kiddo—I suppose you're bringing me grandchildren soon?" The bluntness of the question momentarily threw Ryūjin off guard.

His jaw dropped as an eyebrow perked up slowly. "Mom, of all things to expect of me, it's this?" Ryūjin simply shook his head as he walked past the woman who had stunned him.

She stared at his back, a chuckle blooming from within her as she locked the door. Then from a chuckle a light laughter sounded before she spiraled out of control, releasing a loud and exaggerated bout of laughter.

"Aw man—you should have seen your face! No need to get so shy Ryū-chan! Mother here will explain to you the birds and the b—"

"AHHH—I'm not listening!!!" Ryūjin covered his ears with his hands as he began shouting over her in a dramatic manner. It was almost comical how the mother-son duo interacted.

Viverion laughed even harder this time, reaching to wipe a tear from her eye as she caught up to the now rushing Ryūjin. Minutes passed and things returned to their normal manner.

Their journey continued, they walked at a steady pace as they conversated about many things. Along their way they saw some kids trying to save a cat stuck on a tree branch—Viverion stepped in, retrieved the cat and eased the frightened children.

She was even recognized—ended up giving out autographs midway towards the dessert cafe.

Finally, they now were meters away from the cafe. From a distance a large, protruding sign that read, 'The Sweettooth' came into their view.

Entering they were immediately greeted by a server by the name of Daisy Sweet. She was a short girl, with ebony hair that contrasted the sun hanging within the sky and eyes that were stained with a deep lapis-blue.

Her features were delicate and pleasant, instantly earning compliments from Viverion herself.

"So what would you be having?" Daisy asked kindly as she situated the two into a table at the corner of the cafe.

There wasn't much of a rush, mostly some people coming in and out and a few that settled at different tables with a milkshake or dessert and their computers out. Just regular people.

In front of Ryūjin, was a menu. It listed out a large variety of sweets and drinks—none had really caught his interests until he came across a certain one.

His eyes widened, he hadn't expected it to exist here. "I'll have the Tiramisu.."

"Excellent choice! And for you ma'am?" Daisy smiled as she gazed at Viverion.

"I think I'll have the Pavlova. We'll do two milkshakes as well, strawberry and chocolate please." Viverion closed off her order with that.

Daisy nodded jubilantly before hurrying away to fetch their orders. Ryūjin chuckled at her antics.

"She's cute—You saw the way she looked at you as well." Viverion's words were like cold water on fire—Ryūjin's mood was crushed instantly.

"Mom! Do you have to do that here too??" He was almost fed up with her antics, he rolled his eyes, exasperated.

"What??? It's not like I'm wrong or anything! She was totally checking you out! And I saw the way your eyes lingered on certa—MMMFH?!" Her words were immediately cut off by a massive hand stretching over and sealing her lips together in a very forceful manner.

Ryūjin sighed as they awaited their treats, appreciating the moment's silence as of now. Soon, their desserts arrived, each to their respective owners. Then came the milkshakes. Chocolate for Viverion and strawberry for Ryūjin.

"Thanks for the meal!" They said in unison before digging into their snacks. What followed after was not merely heaven. It was the realm beyond it.

A nirvana-like taste graced their tongues, their taste buds as they melted into the flavorful desserts with each savoring bite.

"T-This tastes soooo amazing!!!!" Viverion's eyes sparkled as she continued eating without pause. Ryūjin nodded furiously as he lifted the milkshake to his mouth, practically inhaling half of it in one go.

'I-It's simply d-divine…' The creaminess of the milkshake warmed his throat as its flavor imploded within his mouth. Ryūjin and Viverion finished their meals hungrily, offering their praises to the chef.

But when they learnt that the chef was none other than Daisy herself, the duo couldn't help but usher out a myriad of praises. Ryūjin's own especially caused a visible effect on her.

This girl was really interesting. Thinking that things couldn't get more interesting, something unexpected followed.

She asked him for his number before they were about to leave.

Ryūjin glanced back at her, seeing how much courage it took for her to ask that as sweat poured from her smooth face and redness flared.

His laughter softened as his mouth moved to speak, "Sorry to be the harbinger of bad news but I'll have to decline."

Her smile faltered, it looked as though cold water had been thrown over her entire mood, literally. "W-why? If you don't mind me asking..?" She asked a little down cast but also curious to know as well.

He sighed, his mother's gaze softening as she looked on from the sidelines. "How old are you, Miss Daisy?" He asked politely, not answering her question as of yet.

She looked a little thrown off by it but answered regardless, "I'm sixteen this year.."

Oh.

Ryūjin paused. He examined her feautures again with an expression of absolute shock. 'T-The hell they feeding kids these days?!'

A/N: Dude must have never seen himself...

His face blurred red for a moment, before he took her outstretched phone and inserted his digits into it before turning on his heel and walking off stiffly.

Daisy stood there, a mess of emotions. She was thrown off course, but also excited and bewildered all in one. Viverion could no longer hold it in as her laughter rang out only futhering Ryūjin's embarassment from outside.

Daisy turned to her, but Viverion's mouth moved first. "H-He definitely thought you were at least in your early twenties! Bahahah!!" She said with tears now forming at her eyes.

Daisy's eyes twitched, her sweet and passive expression subtly shifting into one of irritance. 'No matter who, they always mistake me for a grown woman..' Her sweet voice echoed in her mind, exasperated.

Viverion's laughter had ended at this time, she decided to chat and get to know Daisy better. At the end of the conversation, Viverion waved her off gently before turning to exit and meet up with her son.

"Come back soon!!!" Daisy shouted exuberantly.

It did not take long for Viverion to catch up with the embarassed Ryūjin. Her oncoming laughter only furthering his state.

He couldn't help but spin around and glare at her, though that glare was immediately cut short by an oncoming fist.

At the end of the onslaught, Ryūjin rubbed his head with eyes of acknowledgment.

"So it's like that!"

Turns out Daisy was just a normal teenager that was covering the cafe for her parents that had been running some errands.

He smiled foolishly as he remembered what took place, his head shaking slightly.

His thoughts however were interrupted as his mother's endless teasing had never truly ceased.

"Great, another thing she'll continuously harass me with like a common bully."

TO BE CONTINUED.

SO! EXPLANATION TIME BABY! Meet Daisy, a normal highschool student whose family runs a desert cafe. Or that is what I'm telling you right? Her Quirk is very interesting, I'll also slowly add her to the main plot of the story. Romance between them? Slow burn maybe. I rather more expand on her quirk in future chapters to come. The backstory and stuff I have for it is gonna be really interesting.

Thanks for reading!!!
