Chapter 1 - The Worst Player

Rain poured down hard on the field, catching everyone off guard. With each passing minute, it intensified, flooding the holes on the field with water.

Even though the rain was falling, the match had to go on. It wasn't anything too important; it wasn't a final match or a game between two giant teams. It was a match between the worst teams, competing for a place in the Easter Cup knockout round.

Kairo Lane sat on his team's bench, his jersey soaked. Kairo was the worst player on the field; he was the worst of the worst, so bad that he was ranked 10,342 out of all the youth players in the country.

He has never scored a goal, made an assist, or even taken a shot at goal. His speed, dribbling, shooting, endurance, and reaction time were far below average.

The stands were nearly empty. On the top row to the left, a man and a woman sat together with their coats zipped up, a football club logo embroidered on the left side of the coats.

The lady let out a sigh while holding a large umbrella over both their heads, while the man rubbed his hands together.

"Why are we even watching this match?" "Worst team vs worst team, this is pointless. There's no way we will find any good youth here for the club." Said the lady while staring down the man.

The man didn't look away from the game, not even for a second.

"That's the reason why we are here, damn it," he said.

"I don't understand; it doesn't make any sense. Its pointless the lady said while upset.

The man turns and smiles at her. "When nothing is expected, that's often when the unexpected happens and shocks the world. I've learned this from experience, and you did too."

The lady answers quickly, "I know, but this game is different. Don't forget we are watching the worst vs. the worst."

The field was a bit chaotic, and players were tackling each other. The rain made it easier for them to do so; everyone on the field was giving it their all, playing at 100% because if they lost this game, that team would be finished for this year, and it's just the beginning of the year.

One of the players got a red card for a reckless tackle, so the coach looked at the bench and sighed before looking at Kairo and shaking his head, "Lane. You're up, don't mess this up."

Kario walks on the field. How can I mess this up when we are down by 6, and this is the last few minutes of the game? he thinks to himself.

A striker from his own team jogged past, kicking a pass through Kairo's legs.

"You're not even worth passing to," he said while laughing.

Kairo didn't say anything because he was used to this treatment, so used to it that it didn't bother him as it used to. He wasn't upset or ashamed.

When it comes to football, Kario felt like a cold, empty shell when it came to football.

One of the opposing team players kicks the ball from the striker. The ball skidded across the soaked field towards Kairo.

His first touch on the ball kills its momentum, barely. Water exploded upwards, and two defenders rushed towards him instantly.

"PASS IT," another striker yelled.

Kario lifts his leg to pass it to him like a good little boy who follows the rules and orders, but something clicked in his head.

He drops his foot to the ground.

Kario starts to move with the ball what he was doing wasn't dribbling or anything close to dribbling. His touches and movements were weird and awkward.

The players on the bench start to make noise.

Kario runs up to the incoming defenders.

I can't pass them, maybe I should just pass it and let someone else finish it, but he remembers his goal. I can't pass, I have to shoot it and hope for the best, even if I'm twenty meters out.

He stops and gets his foot ready.

"Seriously," someone said

"He's going to shoot from that far, he's not that good, is he forgetting he can't play football to save his life?"

Kairo lifts his leg to fire, but his eyes caught something on the left side of the field.

He saw a space, a small space only he alone can see and feel its like it was called to him.

A defender goes off the ball, but Kario shoots it, not at the goal but at the space he saw.

His body just moved on its own

The ball skipped across the wet football field into the space.

"What the hell?" The players on the bench cry out loud

There's no one there your so bad you don't know where the goal is," A striker from his own team shouts.

But out of nowhere, number 7 appears in that space. A player everyone had forgotten.

The ball arrived fast and low. Number 7reach the ball by the skin of his teeth.

The ball is moving so fast that he had to use the outside of his right foot for his first touch, killing the speed just enough, but he also pushes the ball forward.

He stretched his leg, barely keeping control.

"I see you wanna run, huh? Ball, get back here."

He places his right foot on the ball and flicks it upwards towards him. The ball spins into the air.

But at the same time, four defenders were closing in with the goalie, watching his every move.

He jumps into the air, his eyes lock onto the ball. He pulls back his left leg. He sends his foot into the ball; his foot ripples the ball.

The ball ripped away from his foot with a fast spin. The ball was covered in a black aura. The ball sliced through the rain, the goalie dives, but the ball made it into the right top corner.

GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!

The boy drops to the ground, then he turns and looks at Kario.

The field fell silent.

The defenders are in shock, even the goalie; everyone on the field was shocked.

In front of everyone, the scoreboard changed 6-1

In the stands, the man from before leaned forward. He wasn't shocked by the goal.

His eyes drift to Kairo.

"Seriously, am I seeing things? Did that number 7 just score a volley into the top corner?" said the woman." That was a lucky goal."

"Did he just use the outside of his foot to control it, flick it up to himself, then volley it top corner?" the woman asked. "Damn, that was a lucky goal."

"Huh? Don't be stupid," said the man, "that wasn't luck."

"That boy, number 29, he saw everything before it happened. That boy..." said the man.

"Has spatial awareness," said the woman," I never thought I would see that here of all place but we got to see a super goal."

The man smiled, "Remember When nothing is expected, that's often when the unexpected happens and shocks the world."
