Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

"Are you harnessing your mana?" Elijah crossed his arms, glaring at the human lying on the ground. "Your outfit is stunning, I'm not going to lie, but you need to focus."

Sean lifted himself up slower than usual. He felt the pain in his back swell. Clenching his teeth, he brushed the dust off his suit. "Well, Mr. Fancy Pants, why don't you show me again how to focus? And all the stuff about mana. I thought about Tabatha while falling. I had sex with Tabatha, I thought about hugging her, and embracing her hand."

"Who is Tabatha?" Elijah gazed intently into Sean's eyes.

Sean stood there, crossing his arms. He looked at the ground. Who is Tabatha? I've been thinking all about her physical nature, but what about her soul, he thought. Tabatha is kind. She wants to help dogs cross the street, and Tabatha took care of her mother when she had a heart attack. She's a nurse, so she naturally helps people.

"Sounds good, and she was a trusting person who cared for all those around her." Elijah piqued his interest.

Sean clenched his fist, his eyes glistening. "Yes, she trusted me, and we were to be married before I died tragically. I still don't know how it happened, and it bothers me. It's not like I'm going back to Earth. My goal now is to get to salvation or maybe find her in a dream here. I miss her."

Elijah took his index finger and traced it across his chin. "Humans can be so physically focused they can be of no spiritual good to themselves. Many of you walk around depressed, sad, anxious, and wait for your life to end instead of going out there and achieving greatness."

Sean's eyes locked on the steadfast angel feeling the courage swell within him. "I think I understand." Walking back up to the stairs, Sean didn't close his eyes. Sweat pouring off his arms, he screamed, "Tabatha, I love you!" Falling forward, the emotions swelled up in his body. He thought he felt the mana flow from his head to his toes.

Before Sean hit the ground, he felt his body become light and float slowly toward the ground. He looked the floor, and his nose was one inch off the hard floor. "Yeah, I did it, I did it." His focus left him the familiar ground greeting him again. "Ouch."

"You did it." Elijah chuckled as he pulled out a cloth and gave it to Sean to wipe the blood off his nose. "Well done, that was amazing. Now you can see what being a spiritual body is all about. You must put away your selfishness from the past and look inward. From what Samantha told me, you were selfish and lacked initiative on Earth."

"Yeah, you can say that." Sean stood up. Taking the tissue, he wiped his nose. "Well, I'm glad I was able to at least float a little bit." Throwing the tissue on the ground, he stepped forward, putting his right hand on Elijah's shoulder. Does it mean we can move on?"

"Quite unsatisfactory," Elijah hissed underneath his breath. "Indeed, it does, but please know this is a bare minimum of what you are capable of." The experienced angel tilted his head toward the tissue on the ground. Letting go a slight cough he pointed at the blooded ball of cloth.

"Oh!" Sean clenched his teeth, turning around, grasping the tissue dropping it into the waste basket. I've got to do better!

Elijah clapped his hand three times as a smile danced on his face. "We will continue to train, and you will also be able to train with other experienced Dreamweaver's."

Sean dusted off his feet, stretching his arms back wildly, he leaned forward. "I feel great. Let's get moving. I'm ready to go onto the next test."
