The room fell completely silent.
Ved stood beside the desk, the file still in his hand.
Across the room, Krish Verma and Anvi Malhotra had just stepped inside.
Neither of them looked calm.
Krish's eyes moved between Ved and Kashvi.
"So," he said slowly, "both of you knew more than you told the world."
Kashvi didn't look surprised to see them.
"You shouldn't be here," she said.
Krish gave a short laugh.
"I went to prison for your story, Kashvi. I think I deserve to be here."
Anvi stepped forward.
Her gaze was fixed on the file in Ved's hand.
"Is it true?" she asked quietly.
Ved didn't answer immediately.
Instead, he handed the file to Krish.
Krish opened it carefully.
The ballistic reports.
The financial records.
The second shooter.
Page by page, his expression hardened.
"So I was right," he muttered.
Anvi looked at him.
"Right about what?"
Krish closed the file slowly.
"That the story we were told was incomplete."
His eyes lifted toward Kashvi.
"You framed me."
The accusation hung in the air.
Kashvi met his gaze without flinching.
"I protected the company."
Krish shook his head in disbelief.
"You destroyed a man's life to protect a company?"
Anvi placed a hand on his arm gently.
"Krish…"
But Krish wasn't looking at her.
His eyes had shifted to Ved.
"And you," he said quietly. "You let me sit in prison while you hid."
Ved's voice remained calm.
"I didn't have proof."
"You had the truth!"
"That wasn't enough."
The tension in the room tightened.
Anvi finally spoke again.
"So what happens now?"
Everyone went silent.
The question had no easy answer.
Krish looked down at the file again.
The name on the last page.
The man who had arranged the second shooter.
The real mastermind.
Krish exhaled slowly.
"If this goes public," he said, "the case reopens."
Anvi nodded.
"And the real criminal gets exposed."
Krish's gaze shifted toward Kashvi.
"And so does the woman who planned the first shot."
For the first time—
The weight of consequences settled in the room.
Kashvi didn't move.
Didn't argue.
Ved watched her carefully.
Five years ago she had been ruthless.
Strategic.
Untouchable.
But now—
The board had changed.
Krish finally pushed the file back onto the table.
"I don't want revenge," he said quietly.
Anvi looked at him, surprised.
Krish continued.
"I want the truth."
Ved nodded slightly.
"That's what I'm here for."
Krish looked at Kashvi one last time.
"And when it comes out…"
He didn't finish the sentence.
He didn't need to.
The future was obvious.
Then Anvi took Krish's hand.
"Come on," she said softly.
They turned and walked toward the door.
Before leaving, Anvi paused.
She looked once at Kashvi.
Then at Ved.
"Whatever happens next," she said quietly, "make sure it finally ends."
The door closed behind them.
The study fell silent again.
Now only two people remained in the room.
Kashvi.
And Ved.
The past standing face to face.
Waiting for the final move.
