ANNIE'S POV:
During lunch break, I was heading back to class to grab my water bottle when I saw Sevi running for his life, with a group of students chasing him down.
"Stop right there!"
Everyone froze at the sound of my voice.
"What's going on here?!"
"As we told you this morning, this punk owes us money. But now we also want his bones to break…"
I turned to Sevi.
"I told you to go to Theo."
He started crying like a newborn baby.
"He betrayed me and handed me over to these freaking dudes!"
He hugged me tightly.
"Please, Anna, save me! I beg you!!!"
I pulled away.
"Get off me, idiot! Stop acting like a toddler!"
He pouted, silently begging me.
I turned back to them.
"Where's your boss? Take me to him."
They nodded and took us to their gangster, Eric. Sevi held onto me tightly, looking afraid that I might run away.
They led me behind the school storage room. I saw an eight foot tall, heavy man who barely looked like a student. He had gold teeth in the front and a scratch across his left eye.
"So you're the one Sevi owes money to?"
He chuckled darkly, showing his gold front teeth.
"Yes… I'm the great evil and the most powerful student here…"
"How can you say you're the most powerful one here?"
He raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean? I am… everybody...."
"No. Not everybody. Only your dogs know… the ones you feed."
His smile turned into a frown.
"Shut up! I'm the most powerful one here! Do. You. Understand?"
His voice was low and threatening.
"No… I don't. You're just a pathetic jerk to me… someone who feeds people money to make them believe you're powerful. But in reality, you also know you're just an elephant who can be defeated by an ant easily."
"You… you think I'm not powerful, huh? Then show me someone more powerful to prove your point! Come on, bring someone who dares to fight me, someone who has the guts to beat me!"
"I alone am enough for you."
He laughed mockingly.
"You? You think you're going to beat me, little girl?! Huh?!"
Everyone burst out laughing with him.
Sevi turned me toward him.
"Are you insane? You want to be crushed by this freak?!"
I pulled away and stepped in front of the gangster.
"Let's do this, one on one. If you win, I'll do whatever you want. But if I win, you have to forgive the money Sevi owes you. Deal?"
He became serious again.
"Deal…"
