Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: The Trial of Unity

The phantoms had returned, feeding on the circle's division. Though Cancer and Scorpio's bond had pushed them back, the Zodiacs knew the shadows would strike again unless unity was restored. The time had come for a trial—not of guilt, but of trust.

Leo's golden aura blazed. "We cannot survive if suspicion rules us. Let us hold a trial of unity. Each Zodiac must prove their loyalty, or be cast out."

Aries scoffed, fire sparking in his eyes. "Unity is not proven by trial. It is proven by action. But if this is the path, then let us walk it."

Virgo's tone was sharp. "Evidence must guide us. If the cloth belongs to one of us, they must confess."

Capricorn added, his voice steady. "Duty demands consequence. But unity demands forgiveness. We must balance both."

Sagittarius strummed his guitar, his melody restless. "Trials can wound as much as they heal. If we test each other too harshly, we may break what little trust remains."

Pisces' voice was soft, pleading. "Let compassion guide us. Shadows cannot survive where love dwells."

Libra raised her arms, her voice calm but strained. "Balance must be restored. The trial must not be about punishment, but about truth. Cancer, Scorpio—your bond must lead us."

Cancer's tears shimmered, but her voice rose above the circle. "Unity is not proven by suspicion. It is proven by love. If we test each other, let it be through trust, not blame."

Scorpio's eyes burned, his voice fierce. "Then let us begin. Each Zodiac will speak their truth. Each will stand before the circle. And we will see if unity can be restored."

One by one, the Zodiacs stepped forward, speaking their truths. Some voices trembled, others burned with defiance. The cloth remained as evidence, but no one claimed it. Suspicion lingered, yet the trial was not about guilt—it was about whether love and trust could mend the fractures.

The stars shimmered faintly, as if watching with hope. The trial of unity had begun, and at its heart, Cancer and Scorpio stood together—fragile, yet unyielding, determined to prove that love could withstand even the deepest cracks.
