Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - Quirk?

The questions were basic. Basic to anyone who knew what the hell was going on.

Jasper, Junya now according to his new life, was told that it was the year 2175. That he was 8 years old and the brief history of quirks.

He's explaining like he's talking to a kid… wait, I am one now.

And Junya? That's a nope. I'll just go by Jun instead.

After more basic questions, the doctor left Jun alone with his thoughts.

He laid back in the hospital bed, closing his eyes.

"I'm in My Hero Academia…" (English)

I fucking reincarnated into an anime? Why not into one that I finished! Like Bleach or Dragon Ball!? Scratch that. Both are terrifying.

Jun let out a tiny laugh at himself. Here he was complaining about living a second life, others would be begging for it.

Okay, Drama Queen aside, three seasons of knowledge isn't bad. Like I know All for One is around, I know about the League of Villains.

But I don't know **when*I am.*

All Junya could do was wait and watch. He tried to let himself relax, maybe let his mind rest.

After all, he had died. He felt the mental fatigue from that and whatever this body had done before.

As he felt himself relax, he felt something in his subconscious. A soft pulse. Gentle and Warm.

He focused on it.

Before he knew it, he found himself floating in an empty space. An apple-sized ball of grey floating right in front of him.

He reached out to touch it. What the…

As his fingers made contact, he felt a flow of emotions. Love. Concern. Relief.

But the image that appeared was of his mother, Jun's mother.

"What…?"

That flow followed into his body, nurturing his limbs and mind.

Jun felt his focus waver as he yawned, unable to keep his eyes open further as he drifted off to sleep.

When Jun woke up, the window next to his hospital bed was bright, signaling a new day.

What was that last night?

He tried to focus again, to find that soft pulse.

But before any progress could be made, a nurse walked in. "Oh? You're awake. I'll let the doctor know."

As the nurse checked his machines, Jun just sighed, looking out the window.

He felt something had changed but he didn't know what. He felt better, less tired, less fatigued both mentally and physically.

Must be because I'm young, a child's body gets tired easily but bounces back fast.

By the time the nurse was done running their check, Jun had closed his eyes again.

Minutes passed with no progress towards the "pulse".

"Arrgh! This is stupid."

The door slid open revealing the doctor from yesterday. "Oh? Why's that?"

Jun opened his eyes, looking away embarrassed. "Nothing, just getting bored."

"Well," the doctor started as he pulled a chair next to Jun's bed. "Your mother will be here soon, but between you and me? You're going home soon."

"Thanks doctor." Jun sighed with relief. He hated being stuck doing nothing.

"Just call me Roki, kid." The doctor, Roki, said as he clasped Jun's shoulder.

Jun noticed another pulse as soon as the words were spoken. Huh? Now?

"Hey, doctor Roki, what's my quirk?"

"That's simple, it's like your father's, he had Empath, a good quirk for his line of work. Your papers say you have a near identical quirk."

That doesn't feel right, but I don't want to stay in the hospital so I'll stay quiet. Maybe the orb from last night is my quirk?

"That makes sense, thanks doctor Roki."

"No problem, kid. Might take some getting used to. I'll make sure to write your mom a note for a follow-up."

Jun just nodded along, still feeling the pulse.

It's weaker than the one from last night…

He closed his eyes again, quickly finding himself in the empty space. He saw the grey orb floating around him.

But the new orb, a very small orb of pale green floated ahead. He reached out to touch it, getting a small flash of an image of Doctor Roki.

No emotions, or so it seemed. The flow was small, like a needle. But Jun felt something open, like a new sense.

Opening his eyes in the real world, Jun looked over to Doctor Roki. "Doctor, what's your quirk?"

"Mine? Biological Blueprint. I can assess someone's condition by simply touching their skin."

Jun looked impressed. "That's gotta be handy as a doctor."

"It is, but all because you can tell something is wrong doesn't mean you can fix it. Gotta study that."

Jun nodded, but internally he was freaking out. His new sense? He was able to observe his own body in small chunks.

He immediately checked his feet and found no double-jointed pinky toe, which made sense given that he'd had a quirk even before reincarnation.

Did I just copy his quirk? How? Why? What?

The door opened, revealing Jun's mother. The doctor stood. "Good morning, Mrs. Mori."

"Good morning to you as well, Doctor."

Now that Jun was less fatigued, he could tell his mother was a beautiful woman. Is it the anime effect?... wait no, Mineta exists.

Jun's mother was nearly as tall as Doctor Roki, which to Jun seemed over 5'6. She wore comfortable clothes, no long skirt or dress. Jeans and a nice top with a jacket.

Woah! My mom's a legendary Tomboy wife! My dad scored one for all the men of culture!

Before he could say hello, he was nearly squashed to death by a fierce hug.

"My baby boy, I'm so glad you're okay!"

Holy shit, I'm going to die a second time???

"M-mom, hurts…"

She quickly let go of Jun who took a deep breath. "Sorry, Junya. I was just so excited to see you."

Doctor Roki chuckled. "Nice to see a loving family, Mrs. Mori. Junya is fine for release, all his checks came back completely healthy."

Mrs. Mori breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness. Then can I take him now?"

Doctor Roki nodded. "I'll alert the nurse's desk as soon as I leave, but yes, you are."

"That's good, my husband has been going crazy. I told him it was fine but he's downstairs. I think he's afraid to let Junya sense his emotions."

Doctor Roki laughed out loud. "Ah, the easily embarrassed type?"

Mrs. Mori nodded as she helped Jun out of bed. "Now, I brought you some clothes. Go change then we'll meet dad."

Jun looked at the folded clothes she pulled out of a bag, taking them and heading towards the bathroom.

Finally getting out of the hospital
