Chapter 48 - CHAPTER 45

It was past midnight, and I felt a little drowsy. I had to hit the gym before coming to bed, so it had some effect on my body. As I closed my eyes, my cell suddenly lit up with a notification, which I ignored. I groaned when the notification didn't stop. I grabbed my cell to turn it into silent mode, but my eyes fell on the sender, and it was from Rowan. Curiosity got the better of me, and I started checking the notifications. He had sent so many messages and videos on WhatsApp. I started scrolling through the messages; our little dinner date had started to show its effect and was circulating everywhere. We were already in the gossip column; fan groups were created, and so were groups against us.

Rowan forwarded messages from wherever he found them, adding emojis. Well, someone was having a wonderful time with everything that was going on. I chuckled when I saw his comments on certain images. My drowsy state was turned into an active mode, deeply immersed in reading his messages. It was past 4 am when he slept on me. I was certain when the text and voice messages stopped. I was wide awake, grinning like an idiot, and exhausted. This is the outcome when you are into someone too much; nothing matters, only their attention to build some connection.

I was at my cabin looking at the files when Thomas entered with a most charming smile on his face. I know what that means. "Shreya is here looking charming and pleasing in everyone's eyes." Thomas chuckled, and I rolled my eyes. "Outside she looks composed, but I could tell she is barely holding back. She may burst anytime if we don't let her in." By the time Thomas finished the sentence, the door opened, and Shreya invited herself in with a smirk.

Thomas coughed and occupied the couch. Shreya sat in front of me, with an enchanting smile. We stared at each other for a few seconds before she broke the silence. "I missed you, Dante, dear." Her voice was deliberately slow, which sounded like a broken record to me. I coughed at that. She acted as if offended but still shrugged at my gesture.

I didn't want to start the conversation, so I was silent, and she was taking her time, contemplating. I studied her meanwhile. She wore too revealing clothes; the white top was thin, her red bra was vibrating from inside, and her skirt was well too short. She had prepared for this too well.

"Dante, darling, here is the thing." "Shreya," I warned her, and she rolled her eyes and mumbled something. "Ok. Let me get to the point: you should back off, Dante." She placed her hands on the table and leant forward. My eyes fell on her boobs, which were about to fall out of her bra any minute. "We were getting engaged, and all of a sudden, you happened." She started twirling her hair and chuckled, enjoying her inner conversations. Trust me, she gives a creepy vibe most of the time. "Dante, baby, you never happened in his life, and he is involving you for no reason. I don't like you playing along with him." She started playing with her neckline, bringing her hand to her cleavage, dropping it there. My eyes were following her hand, roaming wherever it was going. "As you know, Dante, the word 'marriage' was never in my dictionary. Now, I want Rowan so badly, and I can go any level to get him." She babbled, stripping her right shoulder sleeves along with the bra strap down so that I could get a better view of her cleavage.

We stood silent; she started playing with her right boobs, circling, pinching. Her breathing started to get heavy, which is a fucking fake. She completely stripped the right part, revealing her right blossoms, and my eyes fell on Thomas, who shook his head. "Thomas is also in the room, if you didn't notice." "For a threesome?" She is for real; oh boy, this is nothing. "Are you fucking done or anything left?" "About what seduction part? Or Rowan part?" Thomas chuckled at that, and I grunted. "Why did you want to visit me so badly?" "Oh, I wanted to get my baby back, who is getting naughty all of a sudden." She said so innocently; I wanted to gauge at that. "Close that shit, first." She pouted at that. "You didn't like it." "Don't make me throw you out." Her hands went on her chest, exaggeratedly. She met my face to cross-confirm reluctantly; she tucked back her blouse with a groan.

"Dante, I know why you are playing along with him." She spoke in irritation. "To get back at me, right?" I arched an eyebrow at that. "Baby, it's not the right time, trust me." Once again, that came in a soft tone. "Dante, baby, I thought you died that day, and I panicked." She spoke at a slow pace, weighing the words. "You never panic," I stated one of her traits. She chuckled at that. "I should think before talking with you." She pouted. "Yeah, I liked it, Dante, and I am not even sorry about the way I left you." She is really crazy in being a sadist; my gosh, no one can beat her. "You rarely let me dominate you. One way or another, the play would always run around your rules, which was not ok. I wanted complete control over you, Dante. I got the chance and grabbed it. Please don't blame me for that." I leaned on the chair, watching her too-innocent face and the thing I wanted to do so that she would bury deep under the ground. "I enjoyed that moment, Dante. I loved watching your face when you were out of breath, suffocating and trying to free yourself. I loved how you were whirling underneath me, choking and gasping for air. The feeling was different with a guy like you, Dante, who is equally compatible, compelling and competing." She chuckled while remembering our last encounter. "I really thought you died." She pouted, too disappointed to see me alive. "And we agreed before things, Dante; please don't hold a grudge against me." She cautioned, and I really love her fucking audacity. "That's why you are still breathing, Shre." I used her nickname. We were fucking close in a sadist way.

She fucking loved trying things; I never said no, but my rules, which she hated, always. She was waiting for a chance; she didn't think of the consequences and grabbed it in a beat. Trust me, I slept peacefully that day, too peaceful. While she was choking, I tried my best to free myself from her and fought, but her hold was stronger. As she was choking, the strength was gone, and I gave up. We both enjoyed my state; she enjoyed gaining power over me, and I enjoyed the unconscious state that consumed me, and I fell asleep deeply without any disturbance. I opened my eyes in the hospital the next day, and Thomas was beside me, with a bag under his eyes. My dad never came to know about the incident because she was breathing till now.

"So, Dante, let's deal with this as adults, and I made things clear: Rowan is mine. We are getting married, so yeah, please back off." She glared at me while saying the last part, and I chuckled at that. I folded my hands on my chest and hummed at her sentence. "Shre, here is the thing. We are dating, and it's public. So, I am not meddling in your relationship, if there is any." I air-quoted that. "Rowan is mine, Shre. I am not leaving him." I met her face, conveying the dedication in my words. "You should back off, dear." Her lips twitched at that. Of course, she would not get threatened easily; no words work on her, only actions. "You won't back off, right?" I spoke, playing with my pen on the desk. "I can give you a solution where things will work for both of us." She is going to trigger me. "For a few years." I met her face, and I gestured to her to continue. "This is not a lifelong commitment; I don't want him for that long. Only for a few years, and after that, he is all yours."

Shreya is like a wildfire; don't light her. She will not only burn herself; she will burn and consume everything around her. I don't know who holds the lighter. "I have come up with so many innovative ideas just for Rowan; I am not going to give up on him so easily." She spoke hastily. "We can work it out together, Dante. I want only a few years with him; that's it, and he will be all yours." I inhaled a sharp breath; she is going to be tough to deal with. "You are not ruining my plan for him; I would never allow that, Dante." That came in laser-sharp words and tone, sharp as a shark.

"You knew, right? From the beginning, the person targeting Rowan." She swatted her hands. "Of course, I had collected everything from the moment I wanted him." I nodded at that. "Now, you are adding more to his plate." "Dante, please give me some credit; Rowan pushed me." She gave her most innocent face. "I tried to be nice, like, really, really nice to him. I did my best to be a charming, welcoming, soft-natured girl only for him." I arched my eyebrow at her. No way she would do something like that, never. "Hey, at least I tried." She tapped on the table hardly. "You tried, and you slipped. Rowan caught your lies, and now he is running." She groaned at that. "Exactly, nerve of him. I would have been nice. I could be nice. I would have tried for Rowan, but that bastard turned this table upside down by involving you. He is not fighting fairly, Dante." She pouted. "You were cornering him," I stated the obvious of her doing. "Well, he was playing too hard to get, and a girl has her cravings. I suppressed my urges enough already." I chuckled at that. "Things worked between us, Dante." "Because I let it work, and it was always my rules remembered." I taunted her. She inhaled a sharp breath, and we were silent. She is obsessed, and as she said, she can go to any level to get Rowan. He is in deep shit for sure. "So, we have a deal for a few years? I will be done with him in no time, trust me." I hummed at that. "What will be his state by the time you are done with him?" She gave a thought about the question, only for a second. "Probably half broken, but no promises." She said sheepishly. Everything is a fucking joke to her; nothing matters when she sets her target. "So, back off."

I burst into laughter after hearing her words. "Tell me, was it a threat or a request?" She smiled most cunningly and inclined her head. She cleared her throat a few times, and she spoke. "Request," came in a soft voice. "Well, the request is denied, darling." She looked shocked, not completely. Surprise for sure, but not that she didn't guess this answer. "You should think, Dante." "Don't use that tone with me, darling." She gritted her teeth at that. "I want Rowan, and I am going to get him, one way or another, on your bloody watch. You can't fucking save him." She spoke in a louder voice, stressing every word. "You are starting a war with Morris, darling," I said in a calm, authoritative tone. "This is going to be fun, I mean, dealing with you." She stood from the chair, grabbed her handbag, and eyed me with those eyes, giving me the look I will kill you. "This is not necessary, Dante. As I said, we can share him, win-win for both of us." "Out, now, before I call the guards on you." Her eyes bulged at that, and she burst out of the cabin.

"This was a fun show, and I am glad I watched for free." Thomas broke the silence, and I hummed in return. "Good luck; you really need that. She is going to be in pain from now on." I once again hummed. Thomas occupied the chair Shreya occupied before. "So?" Thomas quipped. "I don't have any plans right now. Just tighten the security around Rowan. Last time, she was lucky; this time I am going to double while paying her back." He nodded at that.
